Finally someone who actually explains and details the process of boot camp. I wish this was around when I joined and honestly should have happened along time ago. Thanks

Im kinda happy about this, before if i do decide to join the navy right now i have only been looking into the marines and now im trying to look at all the other branches since i graduate in less than 3 month since im a senior in highschool. I would write down all my favorite things before I go and not to mention we can relive and enjoy the things we love like music and movies we watched or shows

The marines don't guarantee you a specific job, army and navy can. Maybe air force and coast guard idk. But the marines are so small that they can't guarantee a job for you, you sign up as intelligence you might end up infantry, you sign up for mechanic you might end up artillery. I really respect the marines but that's a fact. Marines are if you want to play on hard mode, navy will offer you plenty of skills for the civilian world if that's what you're looking to do, especially to work in aviation, engineering, policing, so on. Both are good options but looking back I'm glad I picked the navy over the marines for my own situation.

@@Sebastian-pm6hj Just remember one thing, if it' not on the contract it's not happening. Enlistment bonuses, your job, etc. If it's not on there, it ain't happening. Read the whole thing, most people don't.

Absolutely! Just make sure nothing changed in the paperwork between now and then, read it again if they try handing you something new. If you don't like it, you can just disagree with it and have it changed. :)

I think part of the problem with veterans coming home is some of these people made the military their personality and when you take that away suddenly they have nothing. Or it's just way too shocking when suddenly NOTHING is provided to you. The military takes care of everything for us. Food, water, housing, healthcare, dental, everything. Suddenly you leave and you're either sink or swim. It can feel really alone and like nobody cares at all, which tragically can even be true when you come home. The military has done better at addressing these issues but really it's up to each person primarily to prepare to transfer over from the military back to the civilian world. A blanket solution helps but each person is different.

We'll see, everyone literally forgot all music especially at first because they just wipe your brain. At the barber shop towards the end of boot camp they have music playing and I heard "Jailhouse Rock" and I was like....who sings this again?

I’m sorry did you say awake for 3 days straight? No sleep? How? I would become delirious WHAT?!
@HaedenBeck

I believe it's actually 2 days but it's because everyone is coming from all different time zones and they're getting everyone used to central time and there's nowhere to sleep until you get set up in a compartment anyways.
