One thing I have definitely found out over the few decades of wrenching on vehicles is battery voltage and amperage and grounds mean a whole lot more than people think. Especially in older european vehicles. And now that again as well as domestic vehicles have caught up technology wise they need the same attention to detail as well. Great to see you giving this car the love it deserves to go to a new home. I taught Electronic Control system for the recreational marine market. When talking to techs about troubleshooting, I used to tell them, "if it is doing something weird, it is almost always a ground problem". I stand by that. Not always, but almost always. Besides, it is easy to tell if you have a sensor power or sensor signal problem. The ground is another matter. Edit: Anyhow, you did a nice job explaining what you were doing. It was very clear. Awesome video. I bought an S600 last month and it had some similar issues. Fortunately the coilpacks had already been done recently. I did have some vibrations which were completely eliminated after changing the engine mounts. On my car especially the rear one (transmission end) was totally sagged. My distronic and park assist did not work also, in my case the central unit somehow lost its firmware. Lastly i had one ABC strut (right rear) with a failed spring. Swapping was bot hard, disconnecting the “quick connect” hydraulic line was. It is amazing how well the car rides for a 15 year old machine, totally love it. Cheers

Tavarish since you have so many cars from Mercedes why don't you invest in an oil vacuum device? Mercedes supports the suction method for all of its cars (and many other makes do too). My Mercedes I've had it for 15 years and have never gotten under the car to change the oil. Just set the pump on a compressed air source and you come back and all the oil is in the canister. You then do the filter and O-rings. I just put the replacement oil back in the hole for the filter.. Bigger hole and easier to use. Just a thought.

Fun tidbit of info about CAN bus. It's the cousin to FireWire. Really similar stuff. My favorite car uses a type of standard 1980s serial bus. It's a pain, because if something fails, everything else on the bus fails and it goes into limp mode. Like... If the check engine light goes out, it causes a fault with the controller, and hangs up the entire bus

Step 1, Giving it the wrenching it deserves (Check). Step 2, a proper detail. Step 3, A home where it will be driven and not parked.

It's not necessary to pull the intercoolers off, you can just lift them up and use a bungy cord to keep them out of the way. That way you don't break open a line or have to bleed anything and it makes the job quicker.
