I have never met Nikos in real life. We have known each other for quite some time, after stumbling upon each other's music somewhere in the depths of the internet. I immediately learned of his incredible talent and fantastic composition skills, and started listening regularly to his beautiful music. Then one day we started talking. I don't even remember who sent the first message! We soon came to realise that we have many things in common... We both compose in different genres, never confining our music to the boundaries of a specific style, and yet try to keep a personal approach, with each track telling a story from our own perspective.
Then one day, Nikos sends me a theme. A short, beautiful, simple piano theme, masterfully played. We decide that it is time for us to try and do some music together. I immediately start working on that short piano theme, it is just too beautiful to just let it dust in my PC! A few days later, I send him back an audio file, with some additional ideas on top of his theme.
From that day, it didn't take us long to really get it right. I would set the project in my DAW, would render drafts, and send them over to Nikos. He would then send me back comments, midi files, audio segments. All our communication happened exclusively through Facebook Messenger. To this day, we never met.
This music is the result of this process. I feel it is just as much my music as it is Nikos', and I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with such an incredibly talented composer. If something, this music tells a story about a world where distance, borders and walls don't exist, and creativity roams freely.
