I totally agree with you I didn't enjoy it all and I didn't feel like the mental health rep was really well done either tbh.

I'm glad it's not just me that thought this, everyone seems to love it! Thanks for watching 😊

Great review, Eleanor! I felt the same. This book was extremely, extremely overhyped. Like you mentioned, this book follows a very predictable pattern that got old.

Thanks! I definitely wouldn't have picked it up either if the book hadn't been a gift ha

I definitely won't be picking this one up, the concept sounds wonderful but I've read Reasons to Stay Alive by Haig and it fucked with my head haha, so I just stay away from him in general (which is a pity because he has some amazing sounding concepts!)

Yeah he's definitely not for everyone! I don't think I'll pick up any of his other books either

It was one of my most disappointing reads of 2021. I found it quite dull and very repetitive, and (as I read a lot of sci-fi), the concept was belaboured. It felt like a self-help book to me too - the message behind it was just so didactic. (love the Folio Jurassic Park in the background! I have it too)

I'm so glad it wasn't just me that didn't get the hype! I thought it was just far to heavy handed. Its such a beautiful edition 😍
