The Knicks didn’t overpay Y’all said this about the OG trade about the Brunson signing They only gave up 4 first round picks. Who cares about the Bucks pick and who cares about a pick swap or second round pick. They kept all their young talent. They are deep and would have beat Boston this past season if they would have remained healthy. Now they are deeper and can afford to rest guys. Their second and third string lead them to the second seed and with in one game of the conference finals against a fully healthy pacers team. And Brunson got injured in the middle of game 7. You give up the picks to keep your team together. The nets didn’t want to make this trade I can promise you that. But they was under pressure so they took the picks and expiring contract.

For what? Just let him play and hope his value may go up
@Alex-vy1wm

Why would they do that? 1. He has no value 2. They’re not contenders so his big contract doesn’t affect them 3. They would have to give a frp in order for someone to take that big ass contract 4. Would be way smarter to let him play and raise his value or play out his contract and let him walk

That'll be a dumb move. The nets are now in step 1 of the rebuilding phase i.e. rebuliding with no young star as their foundation. They should do it like okc where they become a rehab center for bad contract players

This move tells me they not keeping OG sorry unless they get rid of Randle
@orlandowright2323

So that means that Randle is gone, right? They have to re-sign OG and I Hart, and there is no way you can have all those fowards making that much money.

As a Sixers fan I would like the Knicks organization trade picks #24,#25, Julius Randall and Mitchell Robinson, to Phoenix for KD. Then resign Isaiah Hartenstein and lose OG, so my Sixers sign OG and we make a trade for Lauri Markkanen, sign KCP in free agency.

This was a really good trade for nets they have alot of options now they can trade those 1st rounders or they can keep em or they can move up in future drafts by trading the picks its a good trade regardless of the spots the future draft picks turn out to be
@RiceDaddy07

It's not a lot. It's just right. If the Knicks are potentially going to be a top 3 Eastern conference team for the next five years with this trade (which is super realistic), then those draft picks they gave to Nets are gonna be low 20's. Brunson, Mikal and Randal are fairly young...they can last a good five years premium. They can even realistically contend for a Finals birth. You have to go all-in at some point and the Knicks fanbase is HUNGRY. Absolute good move. What are the Knicks keeping all those low-20's first round picks for anyway?
@tyronemurph1273

And they still have 6 left over, including two today to make another move. People just like to hate on every move the Knick make.

Yeah, and it's not like TyTy Washington, David Roddy, Wendall Moore Jr., R.J. Hampton, Aaron Holiday, Omari Spellman weren't super players taken in the 20's picks. Wait. Who are they? Knicks in the business of contending or being wimps? That trade was good. Even if they got someone good at mid-20's they'd have to wait 3 years for them to develop. That's 3 years into their window they don't have. This is why you're not a GM and working as a McDonald's night shift fry cook, man.
