Just unbelievable that such an album was not valued enough by public as a whole except for "Inside"... All the songs, one by one, are hits, lyrics are great, and the whole album a great composition. In 1995 in Kiev, Ukraine, I was sure it's one of the greatest bands ever

I‘ve Seen them live in February 95 playing in a record-shop in Sheffield. And yes You‘re absolutely right ! I‘m from Germany and as I remember they are‘nt played und public any more. I‘ve got. the CD somewhere in my moving-boxes. And their Songs dropped into my mind while taking a shower today in 25th of December 2021

Had the cassette version I bought in a record shop I frequently spent almost all the money. Roamed the streets after school with headphones and the album. My childhood maybe wasn't so good but from the musical point of view it was the best possible. And that makes me happy to this day.

So, living in the States, I didn't realize until stumbling upon this upload that the version of this album released in the U.S. is so drastically different from the original release. I knew that the Intro was removed (a shame, because it sounds amazing here), Shouting In My Sleep was added (yeah!) and the tracks were reordered, but having listened to just a bit of this upload so far, the U.S. version seems to have been at least slightly re-tracked and at least somewhat substantially remixed. "Scared of Ghosts", for instance, has got overdubbed hi-hat on the U.S. version along with different guitar performances, and possibly some other production elements removed or toned down (I'll have to listen to my U.S. CD again to analyze more closely, though it has only been a few days since I last heard it!). So, as a big fan of this gem of an album, I'm curious to know if the plan is to release the album to streaming services with the mixes and track order represented on this video, or if the U.S. version (or a hybrid of the two) is the plan. Any chance of a spoiler? :) All of that aside, thank you for the fantastic artistry that is The Mind's Eye. It stands the test of time and remains a very exceptional and highly unique work. And by the way, if you find yourself with a few minutes of free time and ever feel like typing out some geeky background context notes about the various differences between the two versions of The Mind's Eye (or if there's a great online resource for this sort of analysis and info), I would love to read it. All my best!

@@itsaustintaft Hi Austin, thanks for the kind words. So far as I recall, there were three versions of the album. The first UK and European release, which had absolutely dreadful mastering; it was very brittle. Then a remastered version of that album, and then the US release. It's difficult to remember whether I did any additional production for the US release. I didn't know (or had forgotten) that Intro was left off, and there was, as you say, the additional track Shouting in my Sleep. I think the US version of Prayer before birth is quite different to the UK's one. We really are very close to the release of the stuff on streaming services. I'm going to include a few tracks that weren't released and what I can find of the unreleased second album.

At about 13:27 there is a "Click" noise - I thought for ages that my copy was faulty now it's not - I first got this as a Cassette from a French friend who got me a Cassette of "U2: War" at the same time - Now I also have them on CD so no harm done. They are BOTH lovely Albums as is "U2: Under A Blood Red Sky" - I can remember listening to that on the way to the Isle Of Skye in Scotland - It was chucking it down outside but I was happy - Whenever I listen to that Album in particular I am instantly transported back to that time and place.

It's always raining in Scotland. It's why we need good music to cheer us up 😁 I've never noticed that click before. I heard a song (can't remember which one), but it always sounded like my mum hoovering and I used to always pause the song and it stopped. It happened every time I heard the song. Which I can remember what the song was. It's weird the things we hear in songs. In The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight by R.E.M., you can clearly hear Michael Stipe laughing when he say "Dr. Seuss". It always amused me.
