@Homodemon
2 жыл бұрын
@@thisusernameisalreadytaken5132 Yeah I was thinking that too. I think the attitude of "I'm very smart I wouldn't let something like that happen to me" kinda of comes hand in hand with children's lack of worldliness, they just don't have enough foresight or experience to imagine scenarios in which their lives could be really at risk and that their actions can have enough power to make them hurt themselves or hurt others. Mixing that with the literal infinite space of creeps and weirdoes that is the internet and you got a ticking bomb. Is more of a transgenerational thing, I'm sure that back then, the fact we were the only ones that knew how to use a computer already gave us a sense of knowing better, so now is the same with phones, the 100 different social media pages, memes, communities and the possibility of being online 24/7 that young people are more likely to be experts of than grown adults so is always this thing of "you don't know what you're talking about, I can handle this stuff, I'm not dumb." But sometimes is not just about being dumb, is about letting your guard down, being vulnerable and trusting too much. Yes, people on the other side of the screen are human like you. It made me think about how there are actual Content creators who make good family-friendly content to watch. Everything within standards and good morals. What's best for their audience. Then there are 'Family Friendly' Videos, who hide behind an innocent façade while being completely sleazy. They don't care much, as long as they get the clicks. Truth is, everyone has done some fucked up shit, and some people, such as Bashur did not deserve to have his own past shoved into the spotlight all of a sudden. Sure, theres alot of people who do deserve it, like full on molestors and pedos, but people fr decided to jump on him for a relationship he had when he was 18? He wouldn't have had his life together by then, sure, you can give him a slap on the hand but its hard to deny that he would've been fully aware of what he was doing at that time. I cant comment on the rumours about the 10 year old but as far as I know, if its not confirmed, it doesn't need to be talked about, or overly spread. The internet is so strong that it can drive us to literally kill ourselves. Its not as easy as ”lol just turn the internet off”. These people were our friends, our buddies. These people were in their 20s chatting up little kids. You cant sit here and blame little kids when there is an ADULT in the situation. Who has the most mature brain? An adult or a kid? Get a grip. Stampy’s channel brought me so much happiness when I was younger. He is by far the absolute best Minecraft KZitemr for young children and I appreciate him and what he does so much. I remember watching the video of Lee leaving his world, and not knowing anything about the real reason, or even questioning it. The way Stampy handled that situation, in my opinion, was absolutely perfect. He gave Lee’s character a good send off while also protecting the innocence of viewers like me who didn’t understand that the real world is nothing like the world Stampy created. I almost want to cry rn lol, thinking about how much care and consideration he put into his content knowing his demographic and wanting to give them good memories. I wish there were more KZitemrs like him.

I just realized how L for Leeeee is like, the Gromit of Minecraft. He doesnt speak, makes expressions from punching the air or sneaking like the other helpers. While Stampy is the one who speaks, its almost like Wallace and gromit, one character focuses on talking and doing their own works with the other character doing gestures more than rather talking, as well as help out with what the 1st character is doing.

I cannot adequately describe the primal sense of fear that I felt when I heard Stampy's name being mentioned in this video, and honestly I only slightly felt bad for being relieved that it was only L for Lee being outed. It makes so much sense how he suddenly stopped appearing on Stampy's channel, and how hard Stampy tried to distance himself from both Lee and the things Lee had done. I remember being a young kid seeing the video and being so sad that Lee wasn't going to be there anymore, but I never questioned exactly why. Now, though, I don't even really know how to feel...

For Bashurverse, I still can't believe how the hell you can be charged for stupid things like being in a relationship with someone in your own age range, like three years apart? Is that seriously something to be concerned over when there are 20+ year olds like JinBop preying on 14 year olds?? I'd understand it being creepy if it was instead like an 18 year old and a 14 year old, but Bashur and that girl were probably in the same high school together. I and friends I knew talked to/dated girls near that age gap in real life and no one even batted an eye because there's nothing concerning if your literally met that person in a high school class. If Romeo-Juliet laws existed during 2004, Bashurverse would have honestly been so much better mentally because he wouldn't have been charged so easily by that girls strict parents unless he actually abused that girl which I don't think is the case at all based on his accountability and history.

There's this one TV show, I forget what one, but the story of one episode is that there's a hotel/apartment building that I think was nicknamed "pedo hotel" because of the men who lived in it, but they were the ones who wanted to CHANGE, for the better. One of them was an 18 year old black guy who was on the list because of being with I think a 17 YO girl. He is investigated by the police when a girl under the age of 18 who works at his place of employment is found raped and murdered, and a biker gang followed by a lynch mob are soon seen outside wanting him alongside the other occupants of the building dead. He is eventually found after a fire breaks out, tied in a chair with barbed wire, visible signs of torture all over his body, of which is charred. The worst part? He was actually innocent. The whole reason he was on the registry was because his GFs father was a Parole officer who didn't like him, and had him arrested for dating a minor the moment he turned 18. The girl's murderer? He was one of the parolees under the supervision of said officer. The crowd killed an innocent boy because of false allegations. EDIT: changed one of the words at the start of the rant. sorry about the rant.

SO when it comes to Bashur, it seems the community bullied a man into an early grave. Destroying his life over accusations, driving him to be incredibly unhealthy. As I've seen others in this comment section say, he apparently would be seen just smoking weed and eating candy on stream and in his daily life. Which while unconfirmed, seems to make sense. All that left him horribly vulnerable to Covid, which left him to die a painful death. That's just, awful. I can't imagine living though that.

I never watched the guy, but man. That video where he broke down... idk if the allegations were false or not, but as someone already pointed out in the comments, Bashur already paid for his crime. He got arrested. He shouldn’t have kept getting pushed by Keemstar. Seeing him break down on camera, screaming that he’s innocent, that he’s done... it killed me, man. That’s the thing with stuff like this. Yeah, you should call out predatory behaviour when you see it. It can do good, as we saw with Lionmaker. But when people dogpile on an individual and keep accusing them of crimes they might’ve not even committed, it can seriously hurt the person. Bashur didn’t deserve to die. And he sure as hell didn’t deserve being Keemstar’s punching bag. The man already did his time for the crime.
