I saw the Mob in London in '83. I saw the Mob again last night. They were terrific. They haven't lost a thing. They are one of the best punk bands to come out of England.

The Fox Zoundz is a great shout. I’ve got all their singles and the album. Always felt the album wasn’t as strong as it could’ve been.

The Cravats definitely have a different sort of sound if your into this sort of stuff, kinda jazzy but still hits you in the feels. All the best for your dad getting out

Wound up buying this record because I went up to pay for some stuff at Everyday Music on Sandy Boulevard in Portland Oregon (sadly closed) in the early 2000's and the guy behind the counter looked at me and saw I was dressed punk (stretch jeans, Converse, studded jean jacket with patches/pins, bondage belt). He said something like, "I think you would like this" and slid it across the counter to me to look at. I'd never heard of it, but it was used and $8.50 and thought it was super cool someone who obviously knew about punk genuinely cared/gave a f**k enough to recommend something to some dead-end kid from nowhere. Anyway, bought it and loved it. It's very different than most fast punk, slower and more unnerving and pretty depressing, even the cover image evokes strong feelings, but being used to the trees/rain/cloudy days of the Pacific Northwest and being alone pretty much all the time - it was perfect and makes you think introspectively. Learned later on from other people I knew or reading stuff or listening to stuff that the band was highly influential/known/regarded, etc. I have a love/hate relationship with punk because of a lot of stuff being cliche/redone, but this is good stuff and I'll always give it a thumbs up. Real punk for the outcasts and those that like to think rather than be numb all day. Vancouver Washington / PDX punks Forever.

The Mob. What a band, I have loved the realism of this album for my adult life. I'm now 52 and cannot remember not having this record. Kinda ironic listening to it through today's technology compares to vynal

STILL the finest album of that anarcho punk era, spoke to people like me, even though I was into the whole anarcho ethos(and still am) I was still just a working class geezer from the East End of London who didnt or couldnt squat etc. Anyway first time ive played this in a while and its still the bollox...love a 53 year old git :-)

J Church covers "No Doves Fly Here" on their 1995 Nostalgic For Nothing LP. RIP Lance Hahn (J Church singer/guitarist & Maximumrocknroll writer) 1967-2007. Lance = legendary punk rocker. He sadly passed before his time from kidney-related medical problems. Both records released by the Broken Rekids label, Jay in 1995, The Mob reissue in 2001.

I was one of those post punk folk in the mid eighties who liked everything from the exploited to joy Division and the cure and the jesus and Mary chain. I always loved let the tribe increase by the mob, just a fabulous album. Might I suggest a flux of pink Indians as well. Another great band!

Great post. It's funny, but was living in a squat in the early 80s and everyone put their records in the living room until the junkies moved in. So stuff would just get played while we were keeping warm around the fireplace in winter. Thanks

One of my favorite albums of early 80s. some of their songs are songs are still so current like "which hunt" ! "Stubbing out progress where seeds are sown, Killing off anything that's not quite known" What we experiment today with small groups who decide to burn you on public places is scaring. We are like living in Iran or Pakistan today, Chinese revolution culture in late 60s ! It's ominous !

Ah..... early 80s.... that whole 'positive punk' thing when we couldn't decide whether we wanted to wear biker jackets or long coats from Oxfam, listen to Crass or Joy Division. Nice times. Have to say, at 53, I only think Witch Hunt stands out now, rest feel a bit same-y.

They were / are an Anarcho punk band they had nothing to do with positive punk neither have any of the other bands you mentioned Positive Punk was invented by the NME didnt last long & only featured 2 bands Blood & Roses(brilliant) & Brigandage.

The ads aren't placed by me and I don't monetize my videos. They are placed by the band via their record label - Edit: Mark Wilson from the band chimed in in the comments and said that this is not true. No idea then why some are getting ads and others dont - If you wish to listen to the album without interruption then support the artist - Mark and the rest of the band - and buy the record. Cheers.

@@izkec I don't think that they were having a pop at you. WRT buying the album, I think that I'm not alone in having done so when it came out. A mobile phone with youtube is slightly more portable than a record deck, amp & speakers though.
