In an era when soul classic after soul classic was released, this massive hit, which held onto the number one spot for five weeks 50 years ago this spring, turned out to be the apex for Washington, D. C. 's, The Moments. Featuring the Eddie Kendricks-like vocal performance of the late Johnny Moore, at least 20 other significant artists covered it afterward including Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. Still, no one could reach the depths that Moore hit here - one of the most heartfelt and searing vocal performances in soul history. If you were making a greatest hits package of the musical year, 1970, you would have to include this ballad as one of the premier songs of that period

D.C., the Howard, Warner, & Lincoln theaters had classy classic concerts during the 60's and 70's. Summer in the DMV back the day, Chocolate City.

In these days In these times When is it ever a "Two way Street." Lord may you bless others with abounding love that consists of two ways, both sides of the street not one sided love but bless those who are willing to receive. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

The doo wop of the 50's lead to the soul of the 60's and 70's. Some of the greatest music ever made. It just doesn't get any better.

This music has its roots in doo-wop. but the lyrics have deeper meaning than 50"s era music, IMO.

A classic time in music, when love forcefully gripped the emotion. This beautiful song, certainly, amplified strong feelings from that era!

Know what's said about this, for me. As I was a child, I was greatfully brought up on my/this music. But as I got older and chosen this is the greatest music; eras in 80s 90s 00s. I never got the chances to thank artists for they're talents, songs, creations, and effects they would have on my life today, and not knowing their hearts would make my heart filled with memories, love, and feelings that I believe would best be told harmonic words: remembering when the my dad came home with his afro, after work and my mom, and us, his children were happy to see him, and when we went out, e.g. to grandpa/ma house in our 1978 cadillac my Pop and mom was cool as...

Yeah - I'd like to thank these artists too - I heard this song after leaving a movie in downtown Albemarle (where Kelly Pickler is from). I was 8 or so but knew this was great music - love the striking piano notes!! Tragic sounding song like so many from that time period!
