"The Moomins" (Polish: Opowiadania Muminków; German: Die Mumins; Finnish: Muumien maailma) was a stop motion animated children's television series (based on the Tove Jansson's Moomin stories and illustrations). It was produced by the Polish animation studio "Studio Malych Form Filmowych Se-Ma-For" between 1977 and 1982.
The original Polish and Austrian/German versions are basically visually identical, but the music differs (including the theme songs). The score for the Polish version was composed by Andrzej Rokicki, while the Austrian/German version is composed by Eugen Illin (Evzen Illín). I believe some music from the Polish version (by Rokicki) was also used in the German series, though.
There's also the shortened and re-edited UK version of the series (often referred to as the Fuzzy Felt Moomins), composed by Graeme Miller and Steve Shill. The music (as well as the series) has a minor cult following in the UK and some of the music has been recently re-released by the UK independent label "Finders Keepers Records".
Here's comparison of the different opening themes (and the beginning of the episode "Symfonie mórz"/"Die Symphonie der Meere"/"Hodgkins & the Sailor", where you can hear some differences in music and of course, in dubbing).
