This was a fantastic video! If anyone is interested, the rabbit in the moon in Japanese myth has two meanings Like the Western man in the moon, many see the outline of a rabbit, as highlighted in the video but it’s also believed the rabbit wields a mallet in which it pounds もち (mo-chi), a Japanese sweet made with a variety of rice known for sweetness and pounding it until it becomes supple and paste like. This is because mochi is often eaten in the New Year as a symbol of good luck and (I guess) the white moon could be symbolic of the white mochi and a pure, white rabbit? There is also another tale, of Buddhist origin, that says the man on the moon came to Earth disguised as a beggar. He was approached by a fox, that offered him a fish, a monkey, who offered fruit and a rabbit, who offered grass. Seeing how it’s offer was not as good as the monkey or fox, the rabbit built a fire and offered to roast itself for the man. Delighted with it’s generosity, the man took the rabbit with him and placed him in the moon, tying in with Buddhist virtues of generosity and selflessness.

Please make more videos! The quality of this one is fantastic. My kid is home schooling during the pandemic and she loved this. I thought it was important to teach her about moon mythology and not just the scientific aspects, because it's so fascinating and I find combining the two adds intrigue to learning something rather than just cold hard facts. Thanks

Just found this video (it was fantastic) then I saw the sub count and I now I am confused. Even if this was the only video you ever posted, I feel like you should have at least a few thousand subs. Life just doesn't make sense sometimes. I am now headed to see if you do in fact have other videos, and if so, I may watch some of them. Thank you and good night.

I thought Selene was more the roman counterpart of Artemis daughter of the Olympian Zeus and Titaness Leto, sister to Apollo.
@platypuswoman

Selene is actually a Hellenistic titaness so she is the titan representation of moon relations! The Roman counterpart of Artemis is seen in Diana who also has the same relative parentage, general stories, and symbolism.

Tf are you talking about? Are you blind, or have you never gone outside? Just look at the sky, and you'll see the moon. Not only that, there are countless records of the moon from people of the past. You seriously can not deny the existence of a celestial body.
