These heather-flecked moors are a short walk from the Bronte Parsonage, which itself is very close to Haworth. By mid October, when I shot this, the heather had largely turned from purple to brown. Emily would have walked here, as child, teenager and adult; this area inspired some if not all of her nature-mystic poetry, and, of course Wuthering Heights, her novel. Date clip was shot: 13th October 2007. There was drizzle in the air - hence the misty look to the moors. Note: the average age of death in Haworth in the Brontes' time was 25.8 years. 41% of the population died before age 6.
