@@ericjdeaton i would challenge Jagger's ability to rock and roll.. even in the 80s. Im in my 20s and they just play simple blues. A lot of times in an unrehearsed jamsession, someone has to be quarterback and manage traffic: who's turn is it to take a guitarsolo?, who sings next?, etc. I always thot that end bit was Jagger trashing Mike Love --- points to him as if to say Okay, it's your turn...then immediately ends the song!! Burn!!!

Answer: He wrote some pretty iconic lyrics for many of their biggest hits and has an iconic voice from the 60s. And without him changing the lyrics to Good Vibrations from the horrible original ones that Wilson and his outside writer had to the awesome imagery Mike created, the song would have never been a classic, regardless of the music and harmonies. He also kept the band afloat when Brian was was in a drug induced haze. He also helped create Kokomo which made the band relevant again to a younger generation and it's still iconic today as well.
