Perched on a rocky outcrop, Aiguèze is a picturesque medieval village overlooking the entrance to the Ardèche gorges. Aiguèze particularly charms its visitors, with the remains of its fortress, its cobbled streets lined with beautiful residences, its church with a Renaissance portal and its small square shaded by plane trees. The rampart walk, located at the foot of the fortress rock, offers a magnificent panorama of the surrounding landscapes.
Montclus is located in a bend of the Cèze. The keep of the medieval castle dominates the village which has also preserved a room of the Benedictine troglodyte monastery built by the Templars. Surrounded by vines and lavender, the nicely restored small town offers visitors the charm of its alleys with its white stone houses with high facades, its vaulted passages, its stairs and its lush vegetation.
This night our bivouac will be with our feet in the water, on the banks of the Cèze
