We don't know much about Mary's relationship with Henry. We only know that they had a sexual relationship because the King applied for a dispensation from the Pope in 1527 to enable him to marry Anne Boleyn and in this dispensation was listed the impediment of “affinity arising from illicit intercourse in whatever degree, even the first." This was due to Henry having slept with Anne's sister. We do not when this happened or how long it lasted. It could have been one night. It could have been before Mary was married even. We can speculate and make guesses based on Henry's habits but they aren't facts. Sadly, someone will write a story from history and get details wrong but someone else will use that story as a source for their article. That will keep happening until the mistake has become a factual accepted story. Also, there is nothing in contemporary sources to suggest the Boleyn siblings didn't get along. These historical figures have been done dirty in modern media. If anyone wants to learn about the family you should check out The Anne Boleyn Files channel.

This video repeats the story of the highly fictionalized "Other Boleyn Girl" - none of its correct: -Mary's child thought to be Henry VIIIs was a girl, Catherine -Anne was the younger sister, not the older -Anne sent money to Mary after the banishment from court, and no one was allowed to visit Anne in the tower, so there was no snub there -Mary Boleyn did not take in Anne's child, she was still the Kings child was raised as such. She peopably never even saw Mary Boleyn after the banishment.

Slight correction: Richard I was Henry II's second son. Henry (the one you say was a middle child) was the oldest, but died without an heir. He was going to get England and Normandy while the other brothers got dukedoms. They ran out for John, but being Henry's fave son, land was taken from the other sons to give to him, which caused armed rebellion at some points. Richard was meant to take over Aquataine from his mother, Eleanor, and was raised in France. Geoffrey was Duke of Brittany and had a son, Arthur. John had him killed to take the throne of England.

Back when my sister and I were little - she was a little kid and I was a toddler - she decided to BUILD A FORT. Now, in little kid logic, what’s the first thing you do? You make traps to catch the bad guys! So she took a shovel and started digging a hole in the front yard to catch bad guys. And so, 4-year-old me got curious and ran up to look. My sis tried to tell me to get out of the way, but she didn’t stop shoveling. And so when I went to bend over and look into the hole in the ground, WHAM! SHOVEL TO THE HEAD! Down I went. Mom and Dad always said that their biggest parenting moment was when they left their kids unsupervised for five minutes, only to find their son unconscious and bleeding, their daughter holding a bloody shovel, and the hole already dug.

Hate to be that guy, but when a video is about history it needs to be 💯% accurate. For instance, both of the Booth brothers were extremely popular and successful. They had different styles of acting though. JWB was a matinee idol with a passionate, energetic, and magnetic style. Edwin had a more disciplined, transformative, and precise style. They also worked together on several different plays. That said, while Edwin had a bigger following up north, JWB was the biggest star in the South. My other issue is about how you say King Henry II didn’t like and didn’t respect his son John. Yeah he called him lackland for obvious reasons. Regardless, John was literally Henry’s favorite child. That’s why he was so heartbroken after he found John had joined the rebellion.

I mean I can get why Mary Tudor would've been bitter toward Elizabeth I after what happened But couldn't the wars between Catholics and Protestants been prevented? God said multiple times throughout the Bible "vengeance is mine, and I will repay". So if God alone claims the right to vengeance, what right did Protestants and Catholics have to clash? The only authority from God both parties had was to deny each other's communion from one another (a Catholic denying a Protestant the right to be in consecrated Catholic institutions and vice versa), but never to fight one another. The actions each took against the other party was horrific and hardly justified in the eyes of New Testament teachings.

What about the great York three, Edward IV, George, Duke of Clarence, & Richard Duke of Gloucester, later Richard III? George first siding with Richard Neville, & marrying Neville’s daughter in an attempt to become King. Then after his return, he fights with his younger brother Richard, not wanting Richard to marry his sister-in-law, so that he can have all their fortune, only to scheme for the crown again & be executed. Richard, of course being far more patient, using the death of his brother Edward IV to seize the crown by calling Edwards marriage to Elizabeth Woodville, illegitimate and possibly killing his two your nephews. You also left out Edward VI in the Tudor sibling battle, as he tried to bar his sisters from the throne after his death, leading to Lady Jane Grey becoming the nine day queen.

I'm not sure if it was a bonafide rivalry, but, Jermaine Jackson was supposed to be the stand out star of The Jackson Five. Papa Joe Jackson decided to push younger brother Michael out into the spotlight. Jermaine was relegated to being one of his kid brother Michael's back up singers. Michael's other older brother Marlon attempted a solo career after Michael launched his solo career, as did brother Jermaine. Jermaine has some limited success, but was never able to reach the heights that Michael did. A similar situation happened with Jackson sisters Janet and LaToya. Janet's music career took off like a rocket. LaToya never really caught up to her baby sister. Older sister Rebbie released an album that did pretty well. But, her music career was short lived. The only Jackson sibling that has mimicked Michael's success is Janet.

Mary Tudor did not succeed her father, Henry VIII, she succeeded her half brother Edward VI, who was technically succeeded by his cousin Jane Gray, before Mary took the throne from her, as Mary the rightful heir. While Henry did have his marriage to Mary’s mother, Katherine of Aragon, annulled so he could marry Elizabeth’s mother, Anne Boleyn, after Henry executed Anne on trumped up charges, Elizabeth never again had a “superior” claim to the throne over Mary. Mary was the daughter the people wanted, even before Edward was born. The English people had always loved her mother, Katherine of Aragon, and their love extended to Mary from her birth. ETA: Oh my gods. Henry II & Eleanor of Aquitaine’s sons were, in order: William (died young), Henry the Young King, Richard later II, Geoffrey, and John later I. While Henry II was wealthy and with lots of land, by the time John, his and Eleanor’s final child, was born, he had nothing left to leave to John. He was therefore called Lackland, and, while it was a dig at John receiving no land inheritance, John was still Henry II’s favorite son (of his sons with Eleanor, anyway). Henry predeceased his father, so when Henry II died, Richard became Richard I. He was off in the Holy Lands almost the entirety of his reign, leaving his mother in charge of his kingdom. Also, HENRY did not pit his sons against each other. It was ELEANOR who rallied her sons against their father, as by that time she had come to hate her husband for, specifically but not limited to, his affair with Rosamund Clifford. John was the only one who DIDNT rally against his father, thereby solidifying him as his father’s favorite.

Jesus fucking Christ. Mary Boleyn’s first child was a DAUGHTER, named Catherine. She, and her subsequent brother, Henry, could possibly both be Henry VIII’s children, but it’s unlikely. Anne was the YOUNGER sister, and Henry ANNULLED his marriage to Katherine of Aragon; he did not divorce her. You got that right earlier in this same video!!!!!
