I’m an accountant and I want so badly to dive into financial advisory for younger women because even though my degree is in economics and finance, we still aren’t taught personal finance enough. I had to do the research too and filter through all the finance bros who were born rich that didn’t understand starting finances from scratch.

Wish I had taken it earlier but I told myself that o wasn’t capable of doing heavy math and programming work until I started taking those classes which turned out to be right up my alley. Notwithstanding the fact that I buy food everyday as I am single and can’t cook much. Do I not kill myself over it as am new in my career and just focus on paying off my debt? @@KelsJunethe first rule is to not spend more than you make. Assuming you're paying off that debt and not adding more, then you are doing okay. From there, everyone's advice may differ. For me, it was important to have a few thousand in savings once most of my cc debt was paid off because stuff happens, I didn't want to go back to using credit cards. The secret for me was figuring out what sinking funds are. They've been key to my financial stability for about a decade now. If you're feeling the pinch now I'd look up some easy recipes for the meals you're eating out. Even fast food is expensive so any meal that you can make at home is money saved. Subscription meal kits might be worth it for you since they have less waste and they give clear step by step instructions. It's probably better for your health too. Hopefully Chloe replies to you or does a series for someone like you. Good luck!

Here’s a basic definition. Anyone please correct me if I’m wrong. There’s two major retirement plans that I know of, a 401K and a Roth IRA. For a 401K, usually you (as an employee) work with your employer to determine an amount of your paycheck you want to invest toward retirement. For the Roth IRA, you are the person who makes the decision on how much of your own savings to invest into retirement. It’s better to start a Roth IRA as soon as possible to better maximize your retirement savings.

So yeah even coming from a well-off family you can be frugal although my parents never understand my concept and I don't understand theirs (or I do understand but it's just that I don't give a crap about what others think as they do) you can chose to spend money frugally ik genz materialsm is really out of the world rn but not all of them are like this.. ❤

I can’t even get a job. Please help. I studied environmental conservation and became an educator for like three years. I struggled to find anything that could help me get out of educator role to something white collar in the eco space but I just couldn’t get out. I eventually burnt out and quit. While unemployed I studied to be a software engineer but realized that space was becoming oversaturated and also impacted by layoffs so I moved to digital marketing and picking up skills and experience to build that but I still can’t find a full paying remote job (don’t even have enough to own a car). I’m so demoralized right now. I blame graduating into the pandemic but most of all, I just wish I knew I was autistic so when I was planning for work earlier, I’d find something more suitable for me and wouldn’t burn me out. I’m just trying to keep my head up at this point.
