Humans are not supposed to be that size, regardless of how much fat activists scream about accommodations. Biologically, we are not designed to support that kind of weight, and the world is mostly designed for how humans are supposed to be. Morbidly obese humans did not exist until modern times with processed foods and less active lives. They need to get over themselves and get help to lose weight or shut up about the world not fitting them. You never hear really tall people or really short people expecting special treatment 🤷♀️

@@CordeliaWagner1999 I have, I have sat in them. The armrests are bigger but when a larger than 100 pound person sits next to you they still accidentally touch you. The aisle width is still an issue, especially during turbulence when I might knock into someone. It's not just about someone touching me but also part of my body touching them. I'm all for compartments where you sit in your compartment sealed in or at least floor to ceiling side panels the size of the seat. You touch strengthened plastic not another human. If you don't fit in the compartment - you don't fly. First class seats aren't actually much wider/bigger than cattle class but have wider armrests for "comfort". Plus sized travellers wouldn't fit in them either. In the old days the seats were the same in first class and you had a (movable) curtain to block you from economy. This way they could alter the number of first class seats just by moving the curtain. First class just had better service.

But here's the difference, there's nothing I can do about my leg length. In fact, sometimes I pay the extra few dollars to bump up to coach comfort or even first class. When I travel for personal reasons, I choose to book a seat with more legroom. Air travel is a privilege and not a right. She can do something about the reason she doesn't fit. First of all, none of this 💩 happened because miraculously none of it was filmed yet she was always traveling with someone. Secondly, when someone has to pay for a second airplane seat, it’s not the full cost of airfare. It’s like $75-100 or so. I am tiny and I take up about 1/2 to 2/3 of a seat. Even I don’t like when someone is encroaching on my space even though I don’t use all my space yet the airline workers in charge of seating would see me and select to seat me next to someone larger to accommodate them when they have no one else in their party or if they cannot be seated next to who they are traveling with. This means I’m forced onto an aisle seat for my own safety even if I’d like a window seat. But JaeBae and the likes of her doesn’t care because it’s her world.

For me, it very much depends on the person. I used to be obese, but I'm a healthy BMI now (and short, which was why it was frighteningly easy for me to get obese) so if the person is clean and nice, I wouldn't mind sitting next to them even if they encroached a little on my seat. But the nasty, entitled people who don't even bathe before coming to the airport, and who just plop down in their seat and half of mine and just expect me to move over -- no. I remember one flight where an obese woman was very sweet, and clean, and she even said how cute my Service Dog is (but didn't try to pet her without asking like some people do). I was happy to sit next to her. Attitude has a lot to do with it, and Jae Bae comes across as very entitled.

At first I thought ... yeah, straight up. If you're so damn fat that you need two seats, then you should be charged for two seats. Where does all this entitlement come from? HOWEVER ... then I thought of something. IF they decide not to pay for a second seat and instead deal with sitting in one seat, my fear is that some poor sod will end up getting the seat next to the ... uh ... plus-sized traveler. Could you imagine how uncomfortable that would be? Not long ago, I spent 9 hours on a plane flying from Pittsburgh to Charlotte then on to Honolulu. And the thought of either being smashed up against the window or falling out into the aisle for 9 hours was, quite frankly, terrifying. On that same flight to Hawaii, there was an entire family of massively plus sized individuals sitting in the middle row ... and it couldn't be done without the two people sitting in the aisle seats (one on each side of the middle aisle) putting their legs into the aisle, causing everyone using the restroom to step over them, and they had to stand up to make room for the refreshment cart pushed up and down the aisle by the flight attendants (or whatever they're called these days). Quite frankly, it's awful. When these planes were designed, the number of massively morbid obese people was relatively small.. Now, with a certain level of "fat pride" being pushed for these days --- yeah. I'm not someone who supports body shaming. But I'm also not for supporting "movements" that claim weighing 400 lbs. is perfectly okay, either.

My step dad has worked for the airport for nearly 2 decades helping passengers on and off flights. Wheelchair assistance is one of the most physically taxing things he does. And workers have the right to get secondary assistance if they can’t push someone on their own

Okay... someone who's been in Ohare International Airport quite a few times here... What happened to her, if true, would have been an absolute tragedy. HOWEVER, it's a lie. There are WAY more than just one set of revolving doors at any entrance into baggage. This goes for the rest of the airport, too. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's against regulation to only have revolving doors as an entrance to anywhere in an airport. She would have had to intentionally chose the option that she knew she would get stuck in for this story to be true. My best guess is that she got that story off Reddit, and the story is like... 40 years old.

I am a fat girl with disabilities (not related to my size) and I genuinely don't understand how someone can be this selfish and delusional. I always figure out how to make things work for myself, I don't expect the world to stop and service me. I've never had someone at the airport not assist me, and I actually ask for them to not push me since I don't want them to hurt themselves. I was a wheelchair user for 2.5 years and I'm still partially paralyzed and I'm more than capable of wheeling myself around. She has a victim complex and nothing will ever be good enough for her.

Nonsense! If (and I do mean IF) ANY of this actually happened, she would have recorded it. Her entire gig is to make videos. If it isn't on video, it never happened!

Why should the airlines lose money by giving out free seats to people? That’s money loss that they will recoup by raising the price of paid tickets, I might add.

She didn't get stuck in a revolving door in O'Hara. Why? There's no revolving doors there. Also, a cancer person with the disabilities of someone with it (cane, wheelchair, tubes to drain me, the works). I don't demand special treatment. I don't expect people to accommodate me like widening halls or special furniture or other accommodations. She doesn't need extra free seats. She needs to focus on her health with her size.

I really hate that Jae bae constantly tries to rope in the disabled community into her selfish demands, because she doesn’t give a single fuck about what the actual disabled community priorities are, and she does not care how ADA works. Most physically disabled people want airlines to stop damaging our wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment when it gets stored in baggage after we transfer to our seat. We’d also like airlines to develop a safer way to get non ambulatory passengers to their seat because the current aisle chairs are dangerous and undignified. Blind passengers want their seeing eye dogs to be safe on a plane, away from the untrained emotional support pets. As for how the ADA works, if a building is historically significant, it cannot be modified to include ramps and disabled access, let alone wider hallways. If an architectural change, like adding lifts and elevators, is too financially burdensome, they aren’t required. It can be very frustrating if you live in an older city. Also, ride sharing companies may not be able to accommodate wheelchair users everywhere. If you’re like me and have a ultralight manual wheelchair and you can easily transfer to/from the vehicle, you’ll likely be okay. But if you can’t transfer or have a heavy electric wheelchair with expensive computer equipment, you’ll need to use a separate service, which isn’t available everywhere. So I don’t know why Jae bae speaks for the disabled, because from what I’ve heard from the disabled community, we think she should pay for her extra seat.

I'm over 300lbs, 5'8". I've never had to buy a second seat or use a seat belt extender, but if I did that would be my responsibility. I stay in hotels a lot, and in my 38 years I have never broken any furniture, had issues with the halls, or the showers. And I travel all over.. England, Norway, Italy, France, Thailand, Tokyo, etc. Not just North America. My weight is my problem, I wouldn't expect anyone to change to accommodate me. The only thing that has bothered me with travel is the weight limits on cruise ship excursions. Some make sense, like zip lines or ATVs, but why is there a 250lb limit for a walking tour or a beach day? Junkanoo party bus was 200lbs. I just find something else to do, but that does bug me a bit.

It's not just the space she takes up on a plane, but the excess weight. There are luggage weight limits and we pay for extra there, so if a person weighs at least as much as two (or maybe four in her case) average size adults, takes up the space of two people, they should pay double for the weight alone, let alone the extra space.

I dislike Jaebae because she genuinely doesnt seem to appreciate that the only reason shes able to travel the way she does is because other people are willing to accommaodate her. She cannot do what she does without people at every touchpoint to help her and she acts so entitled to having those people willing to help her everywhere she goes

I have a connective tissue disorder and long ass legs and even I stuff it and deal with the pain of flying (literal pain in my case). I often upgrade at this point because I don’t want to be hobbled by the time it’s time to disembark. That said, I’m glad no one in the comments is coming for her being an ambulatory wheelchair user. I’m one too because if my arthritis and heart issue, and I get judged a lot when I can still stand to get something.
