😂😂😂 This could be my fav hiller video mate. At this point, I think the only reason I’m interested in CrossFit is because of this channel. It’s clear to anyone with half a wit that Tia is milking milking milking the community for all she can. She does my absolute head in. Great she’s a mam, and she’s back. Good for her. But She isn’t Annie though who is an absolute Star in my eyes (has respect, gives back etc). Honestly this video I watched from start to finished and laughed out loud throughout. @@JayDoesFitness just because you discount the team titles doesn’t mean Rich wasn’t dominant for those competitions. And yes, the field may have been more competitive during Mat’s era, but you could attribute that to evolving training and recovery methods, plus the other athletes pushed him to be more focused. Who knows what Rich would’ve done had he stayed in individual competition, utilized those methods, and his peers pushed him in the same way? Since this entire is discussion is hypothetical (because Rich and Mat never faced off when both were at their peak), you can’t say anything for certain. These athletes all need money to pay the bills and for most of them their cashflow is tied up in their appearance and/or performance at these events. Both Tia and Matt F get/got it. They know they are getting paid a lot of money to make themselves a fit as possible, win and thus secure themselves all the big dollar sponsorships and endorsements. Why is it it not ok for someone to dominate the sport and make a lot of money without being extremely transparent and accessible ? The sport of CrossFit is a career for Tia and all her choices line up with being the best and making the most money. Good for her. It doesn’t have to have the religious-like loyalty for all athletes, and I don’t agree they all have to “give back” with an expected level of vulnerability/access. Some do and some don’t, as in all sports. I think this may put a unnecessary “slimy” image onto an athlete that has given her all to her craft (looked like a boss in Rogue event 1) and made a lot of money doing it. Good for her.

@@CB-sr8ee That's not a "different take". You are comparing apples and oranges. Moms training at a CF box with their kids "in tow" is great as it's (at least should be) a very nurturing, positive environment. That's not what @ranaepape was saying at all. Annie, Tia or any of the top athletes are, by the nature of their elite status, only there because they put themselves first, always. Her husband gets up when the baby cries whilst Tia sleeps (she said this herself) as it's detrimental to her training if she doesn't. Annie left her daughter (a few months old) at home for the first weeks when she went back to competition. Forget the fact that the time, energy, discipline and sacrifice she gave to her training regime must take a toll on her time with her daughter (you can disagree, but if you're not a parent, your opinion is irrelevant) It'S really very simple. Admire, praise and be in awe of all the elite athletes for the reason they are "elite". This is their focused, determined dedication to being the very best at what they do and not giving up on their goals, even though they must be in a relatively privileged position to even attempt this. This is admirable only in it's own context. Don't listen to anything they have to say about parenting or showing empathy. They know which words to say but never follow these words with measurable actions.

I really don't understand this obsession with Tia owing the Crossfit community an apology for the retirement/non-retirement. Sports is littered with much bigger names of athletes in way more popular sports officially retiring only to announce they are coming back (Jordan, Magic, Brady, Sugar Ray Leonard, Deion Sanders, Marshawn Lynch, Randy Moss, Mario Lemieux) and guess what? None of those players issued apologies for changing their minds...even after newspapers, magazines, and SportsCenter produced farewell stories, issues, broadcasts celebrating their careers. Perhaps after win 6 she was in a mental and emotional place where retirement was on her mind...and then with some distance from that moment, she changed her mind! Crazy! So stop with the 'she owes CrossFit an apology' nonsense. Woodland ran with the story and then the narrative changed...and experienced journalist/broadcaster would have hedged with a statement along the lines of 'at this time, I believe she is going to retire'. Why the hate for Tia hawking products as well? There are less accomplished CrossFit athletes that have won sweet f*ck all, but their media feeds are nothing but product placement. You can't tell me Danielle Brandon, the Wells sisters, and even Emma Lawson are more about winning than capitalizing on their IG popularity. Every one of their stories is shilling for friggin' Toe Spacer, a cold plunge tank, or supplements. Why single out TCT? And guess what, as a dad with three daughters I talk about them all the time. It's part of being a proud parent. This community couldn't get out of their way to slobber all over Annie for coming back from having a baby and mentioning it every single time she was competing in an event. This double standard is truly confounding. Lastly, prominent athletes that are focused on winning generally give next to nothing in interviews. Jordan has been retired for years and we still know next to nothing about him. Steffi Graff was very protective of her personal life. All we know about Tom Brady is his love of avocado ice cream and the TB12 method. Fraser still hasn't opened up. Not everyone is an open book.

If the rules (i.e. complete rep definition) no longer matter because they make people feel bad about themselves, then what is the purpose of the games? If the rules doen't matter because they make us feel bad when they challenge us, How are the accomplishments that make us feel good about ourselves to be measured? As an outsider to Crossfit, it seems like the whole point of the games is to take people out of their comfort zones, challenging their mental and physical determination, expose their strengths and weaknesses, and giving the athletes a chance to prove themselves to themselves and others by meeting and overcoming the challenges.

So going forwards what reason would she possibly have to open up about her mental health or any other opinion she has and feel like it isn’t going to be spun or dragged through the mud. Not every person has the ability to just easily delve into their personal feelings for millions of people to judge without it effecting them. Tia clearly doesn’t feel her deepest feelings needs to be spread across the internet for everyone to criticise. I’m sure she has a team to help her if she needs but it’s got absolutely nothing to do with the faceless people of the internet. And for you to expect that of someone is also disrespectful and selfish.

I think the beauty of this vid is that EVERYONE else in crossfit space treats tia like shes untouchable. They dont say anything negative about her (they dont really say anything bad about anyone, even ricky when he popped. So much tip toeing and coddling) Andrew takes it to another lev bc not only does he call her out, he shows her injection sites (zooms IN on em), and gives viewers alllll the tapes. We get to be flies on the wall watching it all go down, and we feel like we're not even supposed to be watching. Bc NO ONE else speaks out against the dynasty

Having a big name in the CF world is a plus, for many reasons. Im 100% sure that Tia, Rich, Matt were (or... well are, now, since Tia is back from "retirement") all using PDEs. But its always good to have one big name in the events. It sells a story. A nice story with it. Especially now, shes back after having giving birth, etc... They will never, ever say, or allow any proof that these guys were on PEDs. That would be complete suicide for the world of CF, CF games, and everything CF stands for.

When she was interviewed post her last win, she said, "I don't know we will see..." Right? I get that. Greg himself invited anyone and everyone to test themselves at the Games, not just loyal CrossFitters. But after that, and probably due to Mr. CrossFit, Rich Froning, Games athletes came to symbolize CrossFit itself in the culture. And the Games athletes have certainly exploited that themselves for da loot. One way to think of what Hiller is doing is that he's separating them from CrossFit. They are not in fact a part of the community, and a lot of them deserve no more respect or attention than someone who's just in it to make money. I think Hiller might actually agree with you.

Tia states in the Talking Elite Fitness Podcast: "Obviously I have a lot of respect for you guys. I'm doing this interview". Translation: Tia has officially stated, in my opinion, she has zero respect for Sevan, and his podcast because she refuses to go on. Which is without argument the best long form interview style podcast in the CrossFit space. It's a blessing and a privilege to have someone like him in our space that brings the level of value that man brings. Everyone should be grateful for that man!

While if I had to choose natty or not I’d go not, her performance yesterday isn’t shocking. She has absolutely dominated everyone for the last 6+ years and worked out hard through her entire pregnancy. She didn’t take any time off really so I wouldn’t expect much of a drop off in performance, especially in an endurance event. I’d expect her lifts to have dipped a little and maybe even high intensity stuff but longer endurance pieces shouldn’t take a big hit.

Another great video from Hiller! I think the most disrespectful thing that she did was arriving 15 minutes late, maybe it's my Southern upbringing: "If you're on time you are late, if you are early you are on time." She could have reached out to them and said "Hey, I'm going to be late because I am breastfeeding," or whatever the reason was and no one would say anything. She has the most enormous ego I have ever seen. I have never seen a video of her discussing anything but herself and her brand. Yes, she is an amazing athlete. It has been the Tia show since she won her third games. When she is in the field EVERY commentator talks about her and everyone else is a side characters. like I said on Sevan's show last night: "I AM SO FREAKING TIRED OF TIA, RETIRE HOE!"
