This is so true. Also I was reading about her children the other day after making the horrific realization that she had children and one of her daughters was admitted to a mental asylum which abused her and traumatized her while she was only age 13, and the “reason” was because she was “being rebellious and cutting herself” so she was abused long term by strangers because her mother felt like the right thing to do was send her child away to be mistreated instead of just, idk, trying to talk to her child and help her through the dark period in her life? Anyways. Your conclusion really sums up why a lot of "legacy comedians" like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, etc are complaining about how audiences don't find them funny. I'm so tired of all these narcissistic gen x/baby boomer comedians blaming the audience for not finding their newer material as funny. It almost feels like the audience is forced to laugh, otherwise the comedian accuses the audience of being "stupid" or "overly sensitive" just for not liking a joke? Then they also manipulate their audience and say that their freedom of speech is being taken away or that they're being "cancelled" while Netflix is giving them deals and they sob into their $100 bills in front of us. It just seems like their parents told them that they were special as children and are confused as to why not all their jokes are laughed at. They blame cancel culture, but I think the real problem is their ego.

“You can’t just make up new pronouns!” We make up new words all the time. Because languages are constantly evolving. If a word is used widely enough with the same meaning, it becomes an actual word in its respective language. Some recent examples in the English language are the verbs “to yeet” and “to rickroll” (written in the infinitive). If there isn’t a word in your language to describe something you’d like to describe, you can literally just make one up! Shakespeare did it all the time, and he’s remembered as one of the greatest writers the English language ever had, lol

I still watch reruns now and then, think it's held up better than a lot of shows. Seeing what's become of her is incredibly depressing. She used to be a sobering face of the common man and now, well, we watched the video. By the end of it, I was afraid the suicide note bit was about to end with an actual suicide. She's a trainwreck now and I hope she can find some kind of peace sooner rather than later.

I honestly don't even watch the re-runs anymore because I don't want to support the MeTV Good Ol' Days mentality. I can't get through them when she's doing stuff like this because that's what I hear coming out of her mouth. Here, to me, she seems like she's on tramadol because the nose wiping is a very common drug used for pain and caused runny nose in a significant number of users. Because otherwise she's sick and drunk so IDK what she's on but she's no icon and deserves no money to keep doing this.

Rosanne was actually one of my fav shows as a kid, and still love it. I also enjoy the Connors, maybe not as much but it still is very cozy feeling. The original was so important for many people, it was real and they were poor/lower middle class. Most shows were all upper middle class "perfect" families. She fought for that, and was a good voice for the people who get forgotten, now she is everything she hated back then. It sucks, so many childhood people I enjoyed turned into bitter cruel angry people. But then also blame us for also being frustrated at the world, but actually trying to make it better. Also now we are as a whole class wise much worse off than when the show was originally ended as well.

Roseanne has been this way since the 90s, she has always been a trainwreck. I remember watching the news for a lot of what she’s done. Grabbing her crotch and spitting while singing the Star-Spangled Banner on national tv in 1990, Lying about being an inc*st survivor in while high on numerous drugs in 91, referring to a POC as an “ape” etc etc I saw her in the thumbnail and thought “here we go again” It’s really sad because, being a young Jewish girl in the 90s, I loved watching her. I always thought Roseanne Barr (at least the one portrayed in the show) was a strong confident woman that I wanted to be like, being in a barely-making-it lower middle class family myself it made me feel represented. She’s just very mentally ill and has been for decades. She has been shrouded in controversy for over 30 years, I think she just likes it that way, she loves pissing people off and the attention she garners from it.

@candyh4284
Жыл бұрын
@@SuperTed. no it means you identify beyond the "traditional" gender binary of man/woman, whether that be because you identify varyingly, as in someone who is two-spirit or, if you're not native, genderfluid, or don't identify with gender at all, as in someone who's agender, or identify with a "third gender" like genderqueer. people who are nonbinary can be of any sex, whether that be male, female, or intersex, and nobody denies that reality, but we don't use our biological sex for most things, pretty much only going to the doctors. gender, instead, is the ideology built on top of material sex, which assigns roles to people based on biological features, declaring that someone is a man if they're born with a penis or a woman if they're born with a vagina. this might make sense if you ignore the fact that so much of "man" and "woman" are completely social characteristics - there is no "better at parenting" gene that females have, and there is no "likes beer and football" gene that males are born with. Simone de Beauvoir, a French philosopher, once said that "One is not born a woman, but rather becomes one." Consider this - if you looked at a baby born with XX chromosomes, pointed at it and said "that's a woman," you'd feel pretty silly and wrong, right? because those chromosomes isn't what makes you a woman, it's your gender performance and identity, which only comes to be established with age. consider this as well - when you walk down the street and someone with long hair, makeup, 5'0" tall, feminine voice, pronounced chest and thick hips, is she a woman? well, if gender is the same thing as sex, you have no way of knowing that, because the only way to TRULY know your sex is to get your chromosomes tested. that woman could, ostensibly, be someone with XY chromosomes and an inactive or mutated SRY gene, and they would look exactly the same. so gender, then, has to be more than sex, or you would never know anyone's gender without taking them to the doctor's first. and at that point, why even bother with it?

4:02 the bit with Roseanne describing how she can explode a deer with her AR while the audience cheered has got to be one of the most insane bits 😭😭. “Your gender is… get a job!” I burst out laughing. No matter how many seconds passed by, I couldn’t stop cackling at the sheer unprecedented humor that came out of Roseanne’s mouth. After a few minutes I was in stitches and my legs started to give out, causing me to fall to the floor, crying. Someone nearby asked me if I was okay, to which I responded by showing them the video. They immediately roared with laughter. Their face contorted into painful and inhuman shapes. Eventually a whole crowd surrounded around us worried about our condition, only to hear the video which was now playing on loop. Tens of people were now on the floor, reduced to mindless animals whose only goal was to laugh. The room was filled with a choir of guffaws and cries, creating a sound that can only be described as utterly insane. God was punishing the world for our sins, and all we could do was howl at the absurdity of it all.

So much of the right wing is propped up by taking advantage of people who are mentally or emotionally compromised to spew their rhetoric further. It's the same thing with Kayne West. I don't even really have it in me to be mad at people like this because they're just being taken advantage of and having their mental issues broadcasted to the world. Especially the way she keeps forgetting what she's saying in the middle of talking and how she sounds like she's about to fall asleep at points (and kind of like she's going to start crying at others?). I've seen quite a few conservative "comedy" acts and they usually just leave me rolling my eyes and feeling frustrated, but this makes me mostly feel sad and kind of concerned. Like this doesn't sound like someone who should be trying to perform, it sounds like someone who should be at home with a caretaker. John Goodman's career skyrockets and he's a beloved actor and admired in the industry. The only people Rosanne can get to respect her are lead poisoned old people who don't get invited to holidays anymore. Comparing their trajectories is more funny than anything she's ever put out. Not to mention her voice and rants just sound like that scene from Gremlins when one goes into a blender.

it feels wrong knowing people would pay money to see a senile old grandma have a breakdown on stage and calling it comedy

That’s removing way too much autonomy and responsibility from her. She’s an ass and she knows it and she loves being a bigot.

They don't know though. Bc she's saying what they agree with, she sounds coherent to them
