Thanks for this, Roger. I've been shooting trap for about 5 years and normally shoot in the low 20's out of 25. The last 2 weeks my scores fell off a cliff and I was frustrated and embarassed with zero confidence. One round I think I hit 4 or 5 targets. I tried to go back to basics with gun mount, stance, etc. but was so distracted I just wanted to quit and go home. Part of it was switching to shooting under lights and part that I added a heavy jacket because of colder weather. After seeking out training videos for an explanation, I tried taping a soda straw to my barrel like you showed and found that my sight picture had dramatically changed. I'm finished for the winter but will work on fundamentals, gun fit AND my mental gun, looking forward to better days next Spring.

I learnt that the difference between practise and training is that; practice is getting rid your bad habits and training is trying to form new ones. Love your work and attention to detail, your videos I find helpful despite I shoot Silhouette Rifle Matches not Shotgun. Happy Shooting

@@rogerpace9322 Thank you so much for your comment, Roger. You are very inspirational and I like how you are straight to the point to things. I went out this last weekend and shot Sporting Clays and Trap. I broke a lot more clays on the Sporting Clays field than I did on the Trap field. Humble pie but I had a lot of fun. Thanks for the information/education Roger, I am following along carefully! ☺

This is an awesome video! I’ll try to put a video together about how I incorporated different mental tips that I’ve picked up throughout the years, and developed it into my own routine. I enjoy that you like making videos on this sport. There aren’t that many videos out there for shooters and their mental game. This was great because I learned a few new things that I’ll try out! Great video and keep them coming!

Hi Roger. Great video. I have only been shooting since September and have been watching all of your videos. So far I have only shot in 2 competitions. At practice I am ok (shot a 23/25 last week with a new gun I only picked up that day) but as soon as I am in a comp I go to bits. Will try and put some of your advice into action. Thanks again. Lou

The mental game is so important and yet... I don't think people work on their mental game or they don't think it really works. One thing I stopped doing is when I miss... I simply move on to the next target. Don't get upset or down.... Just move on. I see too many people get mad or upset and that takes you mentally out of the game. And 99.999% of the time.... I know exactly why I missed. Usually its because I lifted my head off the stock immediately after shooting. And always try to say... "Head down and follow through" and stay FOCUSED.....!!!

Hey Roger I bought Benelli 828u last month and it came with 5 set of chokes. My question is if you can help me out here that if I buy extended chokes will it be better in shooting. There is any difference between. Thanks
@rogerpace9322
6 жыл бұрын
javaid...my personal opinion is that the factory supplied chokes are fine...the extended chokes look cool and snazzy but do they really give a better pattern than the chokes the gun comes with...test the chokes out on the pattern board and if you are happy with the pattern then stick with them...stay well!
