These videos are great Vivec. I have always had a curiousity for different drugs, and being only 15, It would be inadvisable to do them myself. My parents and friends seem to take my curiosity as a teenager who just wants to get high, but I am really intrigued by what these substances can do to the human psyche, what it could mean for therapy, what it could do for me in the future under the right circumstances, what one could learn about themselves, its really a natural wonder, mushrooms, dmt, lsd, all of these are naturally made for a reason. These stories are very interesting and entertaining, and I appreciate your mentality on the matter. People seem to view these substances as some kind of one-off escape reality for a while, and often misuse them, and give a poor vision to a lot of people of what these could mean for us. I greatly appreciate your videos for giving me an outward look on both the dangers and beauty of the substances, and I have gained a lot of respect for them because of your videos.

You just described addiction. Every addict can relate to feeling powerless to resist their addiction, despite having every desire to stop they simply can't, not by their own willpower alone anyway. Psychedelics are great for breaking addictive behaviors because they allow for parts of the brain that don't normally talk to each other to communicate. This can facilitate breaking old ingrained patterns with proper use.

I've always pondered about what "All is one, nothing is everything" means but it was never clear to me what my stance is on this concept. The explantion you gave on 49:03 made me finally understand what the phrase i mentioned really means about reality. If you think about it, it even makes sense scientifically since we are all made out of atoms and energy, space time and waves. "The unvierse experiencing itself" we literaly all are energy units that are connected in a way to form matter, which forms us human beings, and we experience reality, which means the energy experiences reality, which means the universe is experiencing itself, in different ways through different forms of existence, whether it is through life or inanimate objects. This changed my view on reality, but it still leaves some open questions. When i die, do i become one with the eternal energy? since my body dissapears, the atoms get blended with nature and become different things, which means i cease to exist and become a part of everything else that exists, but do still experience reality like the universe that i am part of - the universe that is me? are humans the most complex - advanced forms of concioucness in the universe? Must you have a brain to feel conciusness? or neurons? Many realizations... Many questions... Your commentary is the best part of your videos, this way you pass your knowledge on psychadelics and most importantly your personal world view, in the best way there is. awesome video

In my observations, we need a brain for processing 5 sense stimuli. Awareness is the 6th and if Animism appeals to you, everything has some level of awareness, so a brain is unnecessary for awareness. As a consequence of Salvia which led me to be a Buddhist monk (a lot of meditation & contemplation) which led me to see that awareness is the 6th sense and it doesn't require a body to have it.

I remember seeing this same image of God during a trip off of 200 mg of acid. I was off of just one gel tab and I smoked quite a lot of weed for visuals. Before I smoked the weed I remember twitching involuntarily from the astounding amount of energy flowing down from my brain when I wasn’t actively thinking. I wasn’t high yet though so my senses were very intense, they were still sharp. If I stood up and focused on a task the energy would focus in my brain and I would stop twitching. My vision was extremely dilated, and the entire world was closer when I looked at it, like I was seeing hyperbolic space. Holding a thought in my brain felt like holding a spoon between two infinitely large fingers. When I smoked a bowl though, the finger slipped, and the spoon was bent, twisting my thoughts around whatever object they encountered. I played one of my favorite songs and closed my eyes to begin meditating, and I thought about God, and about holding him close, and the music guided me to him, and he was at the center of everything, emanating a force that threw every strand of consciousness out into the external void, but also granting everything towards himself. The universe was shaped live a torus of light with a point of infinite light at the center, and I remember thinking that at the center of everything, this beautiful asymptotic contrast of infinities, this was heaven, and to stray from the center, to be thrown into the vast recess of chaos that consciousness bridges, that was hell. It took me several months to realize the full meaning of this trip, and although I have made much progress my journey is far from over. I remember for the brief moment I was allowed to see the truth of everything I marveled at how simple, obvious even, it was. Paradoxically obvious, yet in the manner of a fractal much much more beautiful and complex than I could have even imagined.

1, I really like this trip and the trip author. 2, around 15:50, I struggle a little bit with the same topic. There seems to be no role model in my entire awareness that's completely worthy of my devotion. I have a funny, incomplete list that comes to mind: Peter Singer, maybe Yuval Noah Harari, Albert Einstein, MLK Jr., Noam Chomsky, maybe Sam Harris, maybe Christopher Hitchens, maybe Robert Sapolsky, maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Alan Watts. It's a funny list, and each one of these guys is far from perfect. Do we need perfect role models? Do we even need role models? 😅

@Paraselene_Tao
5 ай бұрын
Yeah, right? I noticed the same thing, and I know very little to nothing about the topic. It is interesting to me. I've considered several times, what's a way to end a trip? Specifically, I think of it in terms of antidotes: could there be a safely dosed amount of medicine that can return a person back (or almost back) to their normal, stable state? Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of work has been done in this topic (at least not in a strictly scientific manner, like I would like); although, maybe some techniques or medicines exist that a few shamans or whoever have found. If diethyl ether "works" then I'm guessing it can help folks pass out for a minute or so, so that maybe they can get out of the worst part of a hellish trip. That's not exactly what I mean by antidote, but it would work as an effective technique for helping folks through an especially difficult, potentially traumatic period of a trip.

When it comes to sensitivity and dosage with blast off type substancs like dmt and salvia I think I'm super sensitive to them. I smoked salvia over 20 years ago before they sold the extracts and it was just in leaf form and one bong hit of that sent me to wacky world for like 15 minutes where gravity was working against me. Then 3 years ago I did dmt with 3 hits lined up but I just needed the first one, vaped it and had the most terrifying then the most amazing experience I've ever had. 55:25 "The devil himself" 😅 In defense of Joe, I don't think free will exists, so I have a deep sympathy for him (the devil?) despite his kind of foolish activities with his wife. I'm not saying you, Vivec, don't feel the same. I instinctively empathize with what we call bad people because I feel like the whole thing wasn't their fault. Maybe there's a way to systematically keep bad things from happening to bad people, but even the creation of good systems is not really under our control. 😅
