The qualifying rules also add excitement to the series. The grid is in reverse order from the qualifying results. To incentivize qualifying well, every overtake from your starting position gets you 1 point. So for maximum points you need to qualify in 1st, start in last, and fight your way to finish P1. So the best drivers are fighting through the field every race. It's a really enjoyable series!

The 3-wheel setup is done to improve traction of the powered rear axle and make oversteer controllable. Similar setup was widely used in 70s and early 80s rear wheel drive rally cars, especially such with with live axle or limited steering angle. Oversteering was achieved more by agressive throw of the car into a corner at speed which would normally send it straight on and off the road.

I saw these live at the IndyCar race in Nashville. The entertainment level is super high, and it is an amazing spectacle. Another reason for the competition cautions is to cool off the tires. If you own a PC sim racing setup, I urge you to try these trucks in Automobilista (first title). They are incredibly fun to drive (or just hoon around). Quick tips : lift before a jump and hammer the throttle as you go up the ramp. You have to force a weight transfer to the rear to counter-act the tendency of the truck to nose-dive, and stay level in the air as a result.

It's a special skill 4 sure. Sheldon Creed won several of these championships, but is yet to win a race in several seasons of Xfinity NASCAR.. Think Robby Gordon's truck is too fast? Rules stipulate you can HAVE his truck! Just Pop the panels off of your truck, he gets yours. He'll then pop his panels onto your original truck. Takes 20 minutes, tops. I can't think of a series that can be more fair. Not F3, IROC or SRX. His series did achieve his goal. He eliminated the haves and the have-nots. Great overview! Not a huge Robby Gordon fan, but can admire & enjoy what he's created.
