What adidas did great was getting their teams in Euros and Copa to wear retro tracksuits and shirts and they were also sold on their website. Also used them retros kits and tracksuits as street wear.

Seems to be a common theme with Nike that elite athletes prefer their models from around 10 years ago. Jannik Sinner is the number one ranked tennis player in the world and has a big contract with Nike but he wears a shoe that's over 6 years old and refuses to wear the newer models.

Excellent video! The custom "Boot" topic was really interesting! Also, innovation v. retro... great point. Jordan 1 for example... Nike can do only so many color ways before buyers and/or collectors start moving on. Speaking of Nike... have they dropped the ball in the realm of "running shoes"? On and Hoka have been dominating and Nike has become stagnant. Just my two cents! Continue the amazing content!

Yeah, good luck with the NBA regarding Nike, the Kobe 4-6 are still the most popular shoes by a long shot. Many players also still play in older PG and Kyrie models as well. These just seem to be what players love and are accustomed to. The GT series (Cut/Jump/Hustle) has found some traction, too. Adidas seems to have more success on that front, the AE1, the Harden 7-8, DON Issue and Dame 8 have been on plenty feet, as opposed to their older models.

Hey Jordan, quick question. Saw Nike’s Olympic Commercial. Why did they decide to use Kobe’s Lakers footage rather than Team USA. Are you not allowed to use old clips of Olympics footage? It was just a bit jarring in my opinion. But I assume it’s a licensing issue
@JordanRogers2626

@@MAnders804 good question but would think it’s a license issue for sure! He also may not have had many fist pumping moments with Team UsA that fit the narrative, but good catch!

Both brands missing the mark by ignoring marketing to the streetwear culture. We don’t dress like athletes on the courts/ fields. It’s the other way around athletes dress like what’s hot in streetwear. 🎯🎯😎

I'd argue they spend way more time than you think marketing to the streetwear culture. Some would say Nike's fell off bc they've over indexed there.
