The early Christian church sought to establish a unified theological doctrine to maintain cohesion and authority. Gnostic Gospels, with their divergent views, were seen as a threat to the doctrinal unity the early church leaders sought to achieve.

Its not about studying the texts. The language is clothed and they mean something different to what most people think they do. They are not only revealing about the time particularly the writers, but they also conceal what they need to. In truth they reveal how much people don't listen, while concealing the truth, especially when people jump to conclusions. Sometimes truth hides behind error. Jesus' wife means something completely different than what most people think a wife means. The texts have a purpose, the very least if there is listening then there is learning and that takes time. To take time to listen and learn what is truth and what is error.

Thanks to provide some clarity and more understanding Gnosticism is general term used to refer to multiple different sects that are similar but Gnostics themselves don’t subscribe to the same beliefs. However a key component about Gnosticism that’s common and not mentioned in this video is that the truth can only be revealed to you if you look within and are guided by Sophia/holy spirit. The same Devine spirit in all of us. This explains why some texts make complete sense to some and no sense to others and this is the hidden knowledge of Gnosis. The Gnostics viewed the essence, the True Self, as a divine spark of creation, as an energetic aspect of pure universal consciousness. Due to the forced reincarnation in a world of suffering (brought on by Demiurgus, a corrupt offspring of Sophia), the Gnostics felt trapped in the illusion of Gaia. They sensed that this world is not "real" or at least less "real" than the higher realms. If you combine a perception of illusion and suffering with forced participation in such a world, you're bound to become mistrustful and frustrated

@@ponglerman Yes, I am familiar with that Gnostic view. My point was, as a Buddhist, I see it as a mistaken perspective. I agree with many other teachings of the Gnostics, but while Maya in Hinduism, and Samara in Buddhism, teach this is the world of illusion, they also teach that the illusion is still part of whole of reality, and that it is not "bad" or "evil" in and of itself. The real illusion, in the Eastern perspective, is our own perceptions of that reality being the ultimate reality when it is in fact only one small, temporary and constantly changing aspect of the whole of reality. It is still real though, and neither good nor bad, not alone evil, as sometimes portrayed in Gnosticism.

@@aubreyekstrom8919 I think their idea of evil is different from how we might consider evil. Their view of evil was anything outside of pure freedom. Any reality that imprisons love (the force of infinity creative capacity, the ability to expand possibility without any restraint) is evil. This is why they considered Yaldabaoth to be evil. They saw it as a parasitic being that cannot create, only capable of imprisonment and subjugation. I believe this to be true. I personally believe that this sentence is a path: "If you stay in my teachings you are truly my disciples, you will know the truth and truth will set you free". Now, I don't know anyone who is reading and researching these gnostic gospels but I know myself. I am a sinner and far from perfect but I do live and try to live as much I as I can as Jesus taught. Forgive, help, do good, peace, tolerance and love. I am wondering if anyone else who is researching these writings is living and practicing the same as much as they could in this evil world? If you do those very well might be the teachings that Jesus mentions "if you stay in my teachings, you will know the truth" , and truth very well might be early Christians beliefs and theory. "If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you" Jesus also said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"...

90% of the gospel of Thomas is about the fact that Christ is within you. Verse 114 is talking in metaphors, male being the spiritual matter (aka semen) that is the basis of creation and female being the manifested “birthed” reality. Only females can give birth. To make female male isn’t about sexism, it’s saying to return the the corrupted/manifested reality to its true form or source, being the spiritual substance of the creator.

The oldest and still the best defined cycle is 20 days, and it does not correlate with planets or stars per say. The 36 decans is the second best and most defined cycle, and planets were assigned to it. The correlation led to a physical way to keep time, but the calendars came first. Astrology has a lot of ambiguity, and often does not work, where the 20 days, combined with the 13 numbers that make the 260 day calendar does. Jung and Freud are born on the same day and number in that system,, and it is simple. Belushi and Farley, both died at the same age, starred in the same show, and had a similar style. they both died specifically from an 8 ball, mixing the heroin and cocaine. They were both born on the same day in the 20 days, but their astrology charts have little in common. learning the 20 days, is the best way for any human to proceed. All cultures had these and ,..the bible also is written using these to a very high degree. Day 12 is the archetype of Jesus. genesis and Exodus (to chap 13) are the best sources and all else copies those. none is history.

I actually do believe some of the stuff written in these texts and similar archaic ones was meant by the authors to be taken literally, despite the biased rationalizations of those who believe in them that they intend 'absolute truth' and should be 'interpreted' in a way as to reveal said truths. Such texts reflect the authors' actual scientific and moral limitations back then. But when we look at other parts of these writings, it's more logical to assume that they were written in some sort of coded language. Why? No idea.

That Gospel of Thomas quote "for every female who makes herself male will enter the kingdom of heaven" reminds me of a passage in the Lotus Sutra in which a female child only eight years old and the daughter of a dragon, makes herself a male in order to achieve enlightenment. Apparently it is meant to make the statement that enlightenment is possible, not just for human adult males, but for females, children, and non-human beings to attain.

"The flaw in the subordinate" concept reminds me of the beginning of The Silmarillion, a novel by Tolkien that predates The Lord of the Rings. Wow what an interesting narrative for the beginning of evil haha 😆 And as for the verse from the gospel of Thomas, I actually tried to look for some sort of hidden interpretation behind the apparent misogyny and found something similar to this. It might have been revolutionary for its time to allow females to attain enlightenment, but to us now it's still definitely misogynistic, I don't know. That's the most puzzling thing about this doctrine, tons of metaphors that can have a wide range of different interpretations.
@deewesthill1213
Жыл бұрын
@@lore.keeper Thank you for your reply! The passage certainly does sound misogynous to modern readers. A woman must turn male to be equal to men?! 🙄 Although up until recent times, even in modern western societies, male political and religious authority over women was still predominant, and women's role in society was still seen as mostly restricted to home and family. Therefore many centuries ago, to merely question the social order was seen as very radical, even in early Christian churches in which, alongside the men, many women disciples were evangelizing, teaching, and prophesying, as reflected in the authentic epistles of Paul. In the canonical gospels, Jesus says nothing about challenging patriarchal authority, so his silence implied he consented to it, just as he never questioned slavery. So maybe the Gospel of Thomas was intended by gnostics to at least begin changing that attitude. Apparently since the Roman Church hierarchy deeply feared the effects of women teaching men, they felt a need to forge the "pastoral epistles" and add them to the canon to make it look like Paul had shared their viewpoint and wanted women in churches forbidden from even speaking or asking questions.
@lore.keeper
Жыл бұрын
I agree that I can't think of an instance where Jesus directly challenged the patriarchal society back then and I too totally abhor many of Paul's teachings regarding the silence of women, the covering of their hair, them being unfit for pastoral roles etc..., but on the other side some people argue that Jesus still showed uncommon treatment towards women that is definitely regarded as favorable. For instance, Mary Magdalene was a major figure in his inner circle at a time where a woman was not supposed to be seen in public company of 13 men, he also forgave and defended the woman accused of prostitution from being stoned to death, and the fact that the very first witnesses of the alleged "resurrection" were women is also an uncommon gesture towards a better depiction of women, being the first witnesses to the most significant event in Christianity, in a society that viewed them as inferior and whose testimony held no weight. Were the gnostic teachings another step further in promoting a better depiction of women? Perhaps. That would be great and quite revolutionary just like you said. But the point is, are we sure that this is the correct interpretation of verse 114? I personally hope it is :D

I often noticed that the concept of 'female' in ancient texts is used to denote that which is creative/created/inspired; whereas, 'male' often denoted that source from which all that is created springs eternally. It is not about gender per se, but a way of expressing fundamental duality within what is WHOLE in ways that are mirrored in the physical world. All women and men are of the same source, sister and brother,...EVERYTHING springs out of and within NOTHING kinda thing...

There is a degree of truth within the Gnostic scriptures. I am a recovered schizophrenic who had a vision of and a confrontation with a serpentine entity with a lion-like face coming out of a portal and entering a cloud that formed in my room back in 1991. After that confrontation, there appeared a beautiful entity with a porcelain like androgenous face and fluttering energetic wings. I had no knowledge of Gnosticism or the notion of Sophia and a Demiurge until 2020. There is definitely something going on beyond the veil, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

I believe you're saying that the woman becomes a man literally. But what the gnostics say, as I got from the comments, is that it's all metaphorical. The text doesn't mean a literal change of gender. If you are not Gnostic, then you will not translate correctly. It's just that simple. Some things that are hidden will always remain secret because they must. Unfortunately, those who would style themselves as the corrupt leaders of this world are also spiritually blind, (though they see themselves as being enlightened) and they have taken this verse literally, which explains the present push towards transgenderism and transhumanism among them. They are all in for a rather rude awakening when they wake up for real.

🇬🇧 I remember reading a couple of books quite a few years ago with many references to Gnosism But werent per se about it. One book was by a Reverend Bouquet ( written in the 1920s or 30s) & addressed many strange & odd tales, this book was simply titled Comparative Religions Another book that i forget the title of but was written by Mircea Eliade & again i picked up on similarities between both books. Therefor i cant say for definate which story this came from But it depicts the Goddess ( Noria or Norea ?Im not sure) who is envious of the creators manifestation of material things She decides to have a baby from her own creation By this i took it to mean she didnt create a child with male sperm but as the words stated She conceived of herself?? And hid herself away from the creator as she hadnt asked him for permission to self create Anyway she bore a male child who was hideous in appearance but to her he was beautiful & she loved him & therefor wove round him a Glamour or spell so that he appeared beautiful to all who saw him Tall, muscular, blonde & blue eyed & very handsome but it was only his mother ( & the creator ) who saw his real image She called him Samael I cant remember what transpired next but think Noria the Goddess was banished with her son for her transgressions Next thing, Samael is a bit of a rotten egg! His activities match his real hidden face of abomination! He decides to become a god or akin to God, he creates his own adoring minions or human kind but he cannot make them animate, these beings lie flat & crawl about on their bellies floppy & useless. He rushes to his mother bewailing his situation & because she can refuse Samael nothing she agrees to help him However she is very angry with him for creating these Beings against the wishes of the creator God. But since she disobeyed the God when self creating her son she has to help him. She tells him shes angry & is only helping him because she feels pity for the Beings hes created She takes the humans & breathes into them her divine breath. ( its interesting to note that the proper meaning in the Adam & Eve creation story where Eve was created from Adams rib the word Tau was used, but the origional spoken hebrew word Tau meant divine breath, not rib) The Beings became animated from the Goddess's divine breath & stood upright & walked about & talked to each other. I dont remember what transpired after this but think, the Goddess had been tolerated by the creator god & she kept to herself & did her own thing. But Samael made his creations the humans, devote themselves to worshipping him, he loved the adoration & was boastful & vain & cruel too. All of this put me in mind of Yarweh & his attitudes & vanity & cruel acts Im not sure if it was my own thinking or if either of the 2 authors ive mentioned above also put this notion into my mind. Its a pretty " out there" story but its nothing ive made up Ive never forgotten the story as it was so outrageous & although i read about this a few decades ago & dont have either of those books ive quoted, in my library anymore. Im sure they can both be looked up & the story verified somewhere! Id personally love to read them again as there was so much info id never heard about before, like this story. Many years later i read the definitive book on The Gnostics by Elaine Pagles which is a must read for anyone interested. Thank you for your video, i enjoyed it Peace 🇬🇧👧

@@lore.keeper Re reading what id written i think the 1st book i mentioned " Comparative Religion" could have been written by the Reverend Bosanquet & not Bouquet... its so long ago since i read it but im sure it was published by Penguin Books too. Mircea Eliade writes books on all topics of religious history & ancient texts so any of his books are brilliant to read! I thought his name was female when i first read one of "her" books & thought Mircea Eliade perfect for a female child! I was quite surprised when i discovered the name was male! I cant remember his nationality but his books are very informative & cover topics ive not seen from other such writers! Do hope you find the books & they Are still in print! I recently found a pristine copy Including perfect condition dust jacket, written by the famous British Spiritual Investigator from the 1940s 50s & 60s Harry Price. Its even signed by him & is a first Edition! Its got printed hand mounted photographs of his trances & ectoplasm! I found it in a charity shop or as Americans call them thrift stores My book cost me 40p, less than half of one English pound £. According to google its a very rare book & of a limited print! A tatty old copy without dust jacket sold for £150! Wow imagine what my copy would fetch! But its amazing what can be picked up in junk shops, jumble sales etc! My Comparative Religion book was in a church jumble sale & i bought it for 10p but since it was published in the 1920s it could very well be out of print now! Plus i lent my copy out & never got it back! Grrr. Books are so WONDERFUL 📚 Cheerio for now Peace 🇬🇧👧

"Split a rock, I am there. Crack open a piece of wood, you will find me.' This could be taken to be an allusion the the act that the kingdom Jesus speaks of is not accessed through any fancy buildings full of relics with various officers standing between oneself and the Monad. "The Kingdom of Heaven is inside you and all around you; not in buildings of wood and stone." I've been taught an interpretation of Jesus' statement that he can manifest the masculine in the female so that she might enter the kingdom of Heaven, too, but that explanation as it is from a Gnostic perspective is available online all over the place and I'd probably muck it up trying to explain it. It isn't what most might think, though. Not at all. Oh, right, then there's the Mary and Jesus sitting in a tree bit. The strongest historical evidence to support a potentially consecrated marriage between those two would be Mark 16:9-11 where Jesus reveals himself to her first after the big nasty and then John 20 when she finds the empty tomb. Historically, it would have been the wife's responsibility to attend to her buried husband, as far as I've been able to extrapolate from reading I've done on the subject. And to call something antisemitic ought to be interpreted properly. "Semitic" refers to a linguistic grouping including and Arabic Hebrew, not a race, culture of religions. The world would be a much better place if we were to stop abusing that word.

It's a perspective shift you lose yourself from a complex macro of many what you might consider consciousness into a defined microcosm of one. I always wondered how the "perfect words of a god" can be interpreted so many different and contradictory ways to the point that there are literally thousands of different offshoots to the "original" religion. @@lore.keeperI would argue that it’s the perfect example of how God does exist. The reason most religions share insight, philosophy, stories, events, etc. all encapsulated in different ways is because we as humans all perceive things differently. It doesn’t mean it’s not the same thing. The creator doesn’t care what you call it or how you conceptualize it. It exists far beyond our understanding yet ties all of us together. It is the observer that allows our universe to exist, or perhaps is our universe. It is the consciousness present within every fiber of the atom, every piece of matter in the universe perceivable and more importantly imperceivable. All of the religions are wrong and yet in a way they’re all right. All talking about the same thing that no one can quite get, because how could we. It’s not the point.

The idea is that nothing given all circumstances and environments can be perfect all the time. And so the idea of God really shouldn't be perfection but instead evolving and ever expanding through experiences. And what better way to do so then through our additions our experiences in different creations. Now multiply that by a magnitude of universes... most in which you are aware that you can freely leave. Paul was right in what he claimed.

@@skelicles The ancients understanding of evil was different back then from now. They saw matter as evil because matter is coruptable, subject to the laws of change and transformation. This body won't stay like this forever, it will grow old and die, the matter will decay, so will every atom in this existence, hence the refference to the "flawed creation". So when gnostics say that matter is evil they refer to that whitch is subject to change and decay as opossed to the perfect, permanent and unchanging reality of the spirit. That life is suffering is true, but knowledge brings understanding whitch can deliver us from suffering, so life can be redeem, thats salvation. The abstaining from procreation has to do with a special practice that conserves the seed (the sperm) and transmutes it so it gains other functions in the human body. The "flaw" in matter is personal, not impersonal or cosmic. Each of us creates our own experience of reality. Please note I didn't say each of us creates our own reality, I said each of us creates our own experience of reality. The difference is crucial to understand because each of us has elements in our experience of reality that we don’t want, and those things are there because of a fatal flaw in our human psychological make-up. That flaw primarily takes two forms: 1. The belief that there’s no divinity and we’re alone in this world. 2. The belief that there is a divinity, but we’re disconnected from it. We each have a responsibility to ourselves and to the entire human race to become fully conscious of divinity and our oneness with it. We must remove the flaw, individually and collectively.

I’m a therapist and spiritual director that uses Gnostic ideas in my therapy. What I get out of “making Mary male” is the breaking of gender stereotypes as women find their masculine side. In the message is also a conviction for men to find their feminine side. Humans are more spiritually and psychologically sound when they find the balance between HARD and SOFT. As for the Demi-urge: I see this metaphorically as an intellectual deficient way of seeing the Creator as was described in the Old Testament. And with Sophia behind the creation, it seems as if there’s a practical lesson in understanding the fine line between intuition and distortion. In the end, the message is for each of us in our lives to know ourselves..and Love ourselves. We are balanced, happier, and able to live healthier lives when we do so. And if the world as a whole can do this, it would be an entirely different world indeed. That’s what I, personally, take from it.

Spirit led me to the real *Jesus Christ* and everything changed - paradigm shifted. This is being *BORN AGAIN* and it's an ongoing surprise to me 😁 It escapes the notice of our self-absorbed, glamour-saturated world that we're in a spiritual war for souls. The immensity of ignorance is astonishing: the dark powers bedazzling the minds of the masses (Ephesians 6:12). We've inherited ancient spiritual subversion: the earth is fallen. The holistic fields of nature are fallen state. Life kills and feeds upon itself. Mankind is a spiritually fallen race highly prone to deceit and delusion. Frankly, we need a *Saviour* and by Jesus Christ we have a *Glorious One* As a new ager I couldn't believe it but in the *Light of Spirit* Jesus really is the *Way, the truth and the Life* just like He said: no one comes to God except through Jesus, there's no other way (Matthew 7:13-14). As a neo-vedantist I wasn't convinced (I was damn sure I knew better) but turns out the Bible is Spirit breathed, written by men inspired by the *Holy Spirit.* Jesus is vividly portrayed and endorsed in the new testament, in fact he's apparent in the old testament too (Luke 24:27 & 44) and by the *Light of Spirit* we're allowed to *see* that and *know Him.* Any previously perceived discrepancies or contradictions are ironed out and the supernatural narrative flows most beautifully. The Bible is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Thanks Darren for taking the time to share your personal experience! While I won't argue with any supernatural claims, the only part I can strongly disagree with here is the persistent view that humans are inherently corrupt and always dependent on an external force, without which they are doomed to fail or 'stay lost'. This to me is quite unfair and counterproductive and in the long term, even *lethal* . I believe we as a species are intelligent enough and capable of awesome things, both moral and scientific. We *DO have our problems* , but we are slowly evolving to better solve them, especially when it comes to morals. I personally think we don't need any outside force to make us good and 'uncorrupt'. Instead of seeing ourselves as weak and fallen, if we believe that we have it in us, and that we are the only ones who can collectively shape our future in a positive way, then we can achieve amazing things. Again, to each their own, just sharing with you my own belief regarding this specific part of your comment, otherwise glad to see your belief is bringing you a sense of fulfillment on a personal level. Thanks again and hope you enjoyed the video 🙌😇

Rubbish...He is not apparent in the O.T. which has absolutely nothing to do with the Aeon Christ. In fact, your Christ lied to the patriarchs via the sin of omission by not directly telling them he was the 2nd aspect of a Trinity. Something they could have easily understood as the trinity idea was ubiquitous in Egypt...Not to mention that David was Tuthmosis the 111 and Solomon was Amenhotep. Read Mustafa Gadalla on that point and google a picture of the Egyptian temple as the so called Hebrew temple is an exact replica. Enough of the spiritual BS as true GNOSIS is the fact that the O.T. and N.T. are incompatible! Even Marcion understood this...

You do not understand what the New Age is and truly means. It is NOT the hodge-podge of what you described. The imminent New Age/Era is that which Christ will usher in at His promised Second Coming. It will be a time of elucidation that goes far beyond what the New Testament offers/ed. Also, the NT has been misinterpreted, misunderstood , misused and parts of it deleted. I have 'been there, done that ' where you are now. At the age of 12 through to my late 20s I was a member of a church, when and where I repented , was baptised and (supposedly) received the Holy Spirit. (not so!). I left that religion and its rigid, unenlightened mode of thinking and emotional centeredness as I was frustrated with the lack of wisdom there. In my search for better explanation, meaning and understanding of spirituality, I discovered the Ageless Wisdom Teachings which are a precurser to the new and ageless teachings that Christ will bring in with His Second Coming. The Laws and Principles of the New Age will be concerned with the individual and group development of the Soul (which/Who is/of and/ on, the higher, abstract mental plane). These Laws and Principles to live by, very briefly are : Right Human Relations, Goodwill, Group Endeavour, Unanimity, Spiritual Approach and Essential Divinity. The Holy Spirit is grossly misunderstood. It is the third energy which/Who is Active Creative Intelligence and Adaptability. Its purpose is Divine mental perceptions through which Divinity manifests. Its qualities are : the power to manifest, mental illumination, the power to produce synthesis on the physical plane, scientific investigation, balance. "His work is more closely linked to matter and He works in cooperation with the Lord of the second ray*. He is the motivating impulse in the initial work of creation ... through the medium of matter he provides humanity with a vast field of experiment and experience." Source - 'Esoteric Psychology,' p. 23, from the over 20 books by Alice Bailey, the amanuensis for the Ascended Spiritual Master, Djwhal Khul. *The second ray/radiation of energy is Love-Wisdom, which this ray, Christ and Buddha head. Christ with the Love aspect and Buddha with the Wisdom aspect. For an extraordinary, deeper and insightful explanation and understanding of the life of Jesus Christ, read, 'From Bethlehem To Calvary'-The Initiations of Jesus, by Alice Bailey. Also, as an introduction to the Ageless Wisdom Teachings, read, 'Ponder On This, a compilation of/on various topics from the Bailey books on spiritual and other topics. Check out more on The Lucis Trust channel on You Tube. PS. I too, have had the kundalini experience when I was in my early 20s. I was expressing loving forgiveness to someone who has wronged me when a fiery, cleansing, electric current ran up my spine, through my chakras and wonderfully exploded in and around my head at the crown chakra. I was on a spiritual 'high' for days. This was even well before I knew what it was! It was a ' baptism of fire' experience. Goodwill Blessings.

Verse 77 about the wood and stone, it’s saying that the “son” being all things derived from the father creator have a portion of the creator within them. Thomas places an emphasis on the fact that this truth is hidden in plain sight in many of the the verses. So to say “split a piece of wood and I am there” is saying that within that substance of wood, is hidden a piece of the creator. Hidden under a rock, you see nothing, yet all around you are the works of God. It’s saying that all manifested reality contains a portion of the spiritual substance of the creator, in the myriad forms (called the sons or offspring) of God.

What if murdering children was referring to abortion?
@lore.keeper
Жыл бұрын
Well that's an interesting proposition, perhaps this is the case, given the old misconceptions about abortion. I for one understood it in the sense that they literally kill their children after giving birth to them. Yet it could also be something else altogether, like a symbolism that's not meant to be taken literally. That's the confusing thing about gnostic texts, multiple possible interpretations but we don't know which one is supposed to be intended.

Murdering children is referring to the common practice of infanticide. Today it’s still practiced if you birth a girl and wanted a boy in say India, where girls are despised until they can be a workhorse, but boys bring ‘honor’. Jesus fought with the Scribes and Pharisees, and called them white-washed walls, filled with dead men's bones, despite telling his disciples to love their enemies, as he obviously learnt to do, by his trial. And, if the Gospels didn't record this, then we would hardly believe that Jesus could utter such shocking phrases, considering how loving he was. Likewise, Jesus could have fought with Mary, and said such shocking things about her, because he obviously had a short fuse, early in his ministry. And, since Mary sabotaged his perfect dreams, by making him turn water into wine, in defiance of God's will, to cause John the Baptist to lose faith in him, why wouldn't Jesus try to excuse his mother, by blaming her shocking mistake on being a weak-minded woman, to justify defying his own moral code? Eventually, Jesus forgave everyone who sabotaged his perfect dreams. So, why would people promote these derogatory statements, instead of realizing that Jesus learned obedience, by the things which he suffered, like Hebrew 5:8 makes obvious?

What I love about so many of these gnostic faiths is they actually made an attempt to reconcile the old testament and new testament by saying that the god of the old testament was a different entity than the Heavenly Father. The form of Christianity that won out doesn't do that and suffers from what I like to call "God is Evil and Christians thus worship evil" due to the fact that from an objective outsider's perspective, a great many of the actions of the Biblical God are just plain evil. (Genocides, murdering children, torturing people including children, and other crimes.) Thus they've put themselves in the position of worshiping a God that is clearly evil to anyone who isn't brainwashed into their cult. And many of the early Christians recognized that this was a problem, so they took steps and declared that the god of the Old Testament wasn't the REAL god. Very smart. Maybe Christianity wouldn't be such a horrible evil cult responsible for the deaths of millions and millions of people being tortured if the gnostic view had been the one to win.

Thanks Fay for the comment, I do agree with the gist of what you said but with reservations regarding some expressions. Speaking for myself, I personally wish the 3 main abrahamic faiths didn't exist, they inflicted upon our world too much suffering and oppression, way more than progress. They are all the same. Perhaps the only redeeming quality here is that Jesus as a person was a pacifist and most of his teachings, with few exceptions, hold moral weight, we can't deny that to be fair. But sure, clearly the old testament and new testament gods are wildly different and I think the gnostics figured this out too.

There, "female" refers to (the lower emotional mind). The "male" (higher emotional, rational mind), "Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death." This becomes, then, a concise metaphorical expression of the Gnostic approach, to abandon the "female" (lower emotions) and seek to become "male" (the higher mind). The undivided mind, this hen is considered secret sayings, because it is written in deep metaphor and symbolism, of course a real female cannot become male, LITERALLY, yet symbolically, she can. The whole of the Bible is written in such symbology, using the etymology of the male and female, to describe states of being, it's all just symbols.

Namaste 🙏 Weaterners will be Westerners. Always tripping over logic and rational exoteric symbolisms and myths. The esoteric is completely lost on them. Even if Christ were to return, they'd likely cancel him, deny him, and the Catholic Church would label him as a demon of some sort. Ever since Constantine Europe and subsequently the collective West was detached from genuine soul connection. India however remained true to it's vedantic roots. Roots which the druidic and Gaelic cultures had far more in common with, including the Goddess Danu, and the same root etymology of their languages. Jesus was a realised being. He could work miracles and was spiritually ascended. Just as many others have been that the West conveniently also disregards. The greatest trick of Catholicism was that it talked people out of their soul connection and reserved it only for the priest class who knew the true practices. I have a deep love for Jesus and his path. But when it comes to Christian mysticism and religion, it is so synchretised with other beliefs that the messages are lost entirely on all but the most encryptically astute. It takes the path of the heart and soul, and turns it into a cerebral puzzle. Hence the high emphasis on rationality and logic. No wonder the Romans loved concrete as they concretised the world and the magic of it in more ways than one.

Thanks for the comment! I understand you're hinting that the wedding at Cana was that of Jesus. If I'm wrong correct me. I do respect your understanding of the Jewish Law but I think this proposition is really far fetched. The story according to the Bible clearly says that Jesus was *invited* to the wedding, it wasn't his. And Mary asked the servants to do as Jesus tells them, so it was those in charge who did everything as you said. As for the Jesus bloodline theory (that Jesus was married and had children) it has been perpetuated mostly by fringe researchers, pop culture through movies and novels, and unsubstantiated research. The historical records barely support this possibility. All scholarly consensus, both Christian and secular, holds that Jesus didn't marry in his lifetime. These texts were only known to have existed because of Erinaeus the Greek Bishop who stated they were heretical writings, when the gnostic texts were discovered it enabled scholars a look into suppressed beliefs that was eradicated by the early church. I have no problem believing that the God who created this world, Saklas loved violence and chaos and that he was imperfect, history has certainly proved that

Exactly, all our knowledge of gnosticism was limited to the commentaries made by early church fathers about them being "heretics" but that changed completely with the unearthing of the nag hammadi codices. And I am inclined to agree with you regarding the second part of your comment. This can never be an all-loving, all-merciful deity.

@@lore.keeper the irony is that had Irenaeus not been so vocal in his opposition, and had not mentioned the Gnostic texts at all, the church could have easily dismissed the NH library as inauthentic. So in his own way, he helped to preserve the very thing that he wished to destroy! The Lord works in mysterious ways indeed!

@@gibbletronic5139 well, I do agree with you on this one, it's quite ironic lol Prior to the nag hammadi library most or all of our knowledge on gnosticism was from early church fathers denouncing it.

What is St. Irenaeus famous quote? Probably the most famous quote from Irenaeus, and one maybe you've seen floating around social media, is often given as "The glory of God is man fully alive."

Clearly a statement that is worthy of Saklas, that is just as ridiculous! Some people aren't ready for the truth, and others can't handle the truth, so until they are, secrets remain the best way to protect them from themselves. Even a novice should know that.

About females becoming male, I've read that quote differently years ago as I was looking for the explanaition as to why some christians say women don't have souls. The way it was written then, was women were not allowed to read, and Jesus asked for women to be able to read so they too could gain access to the knowledge to find the way to the kingdom (or something like that, I'm going by my memory here). So it was about becoming like men, to get access to books.

Well, the one who explained it all from beginning to end sounded more like the " lord of the rings" movie. It's like we seen this one already and guess what the good guys win at last. As far as what Jesus said about taking bread, breaking it representing his body and taking a cup of wine representing his " blood" that would be shed as his sacrifice. Jesus said " do this in remembrance of me" He never said "only" at this time of the year it happened. We all know that the Catholic church does this during every mass, not everyone is required to partake of it but it is offered Some other churches do this " once " a year at around the time of the last supper took place. So, the point is to remember Him Jesus the Christ King 👑🌹

No offence meant here at all, I do know that Judas is the betrayer according to the Christian perspective, but this video is about Gnosticism, and in the Gnostic view Judas is seen as the true disciple instead of a betrayer.
