If you actually looking for an Audiophile approved IEMs under 20$, there are the Moondrop Chu, CCA CRA, 7Hz Salnotes Zero, Tangzu Wan'er, Tripowin Lea, etc The old models from KZs like the one in the review has very bad technicalities

Hi, could you throw more examples? Especially for FPS games (positioning, footsteps)
@minhtrio6980

@@SaladHate All of them have somewhat servicable techincallity, though. The Zero and the Chu have the best imaging, but the sub-bass on the CCA CRA and he Waner does sells the illusion of wide soundstage. But regardless, you should just pick whatever you want as long as the tunning matches your taste. You can get use to the goods and flaws of all of these sets after you have spend enough time with them. The Chu and 7Hz Zero have neutral tunning CCA CRA is a U-shaped (boosted bass and trebble and slightly recessed mids). The Waner is warm neutral (safest tunning of them all). I havent tried the Tripowin Lea so I cant give you any opinion about it.

Completely false, kz zst has one of the best competitive sound I have ever heard. Played thousands of hours on csgo, battlefield and cod and the kz zst has better sound stage, seperation, imaging than my all my Logitech, hyperx and corsair gaming headsets.

As an owner of BD1990, X58 Jubilee, Audeze Penrose headphones, I also have a few pairs of IEMs….. cheaper $20-150USD price range and love my IEMs for longer gaming sessions over headphones to reduce the heat build up associated with said sessions.

Nothing that they are not designed for games )) only music, a lot of them I had, they have a V-shaped frequency response where a lot of bass and treble, in CSGO especially you can hear the highs just kill me, brrrr how terrible it is.... And this applies to almost all, from not expensive to expensive.

Hey techne, hope you having a great day! Recently i got my self a pair of IEM’s but when i hooked it up to my PC sound wasn’t the best ( i plugged it to the motherboard) , I tried it on my phone it was great! So i was wondering what is your setup for IEM’s on your PC, also if you could recommend an affordable solution? I don’t want an audiophile level i just something good enough, thanks.

the KZ ZST X are in my subjective opinion, the better of the two ZST models. The ZST have a wider sound stage but the X model have a smaller sound stage but the imaging is better. I end up using the X model as my dailry driver outside ( I have HD 600s at home ) becuase it sounds better to me and the trebble is a bit smoother. theyre very inexpensive so you could just buy both anyways and are around the same price anyways. They do look very similar though.

From hundreds of hours of testing (Apex legends/Binaural tracks) 30+ earbuds between KZ and TOTL 1500$ sony buds, here's my thoughts. - I don't care about just hearing footsteps, I want to feel where they are instinctively. That hairs on the back of your neck standing up effect. Bassy cheapo buds are GOD tier for this because they focus on lively sound instead of dry boring sound. -It depends on the game, Apex Legends hard curbs bass from sounds depending on distance. With my bassy earbuds I can identify footsteps and how far they are 10 times better than my teammates and it is extremely helpful (as a Solo Q masters) to know if I'm getting swung by a team. - Best earbuds I've tried so far for Apex are the Azla Azel Edition G, you can identify footsteps clear as day from a mile away. - I think consistency in headset usage is most important, because your brains learning what sounds mean what with that headset. If you hear something and think its close but then the enemy pops out a second too early, your instincts (?) tune themselves to know that that sound was closer. If you swap too much your instincts get thrown off. - Nobody ever needs to buy a set of earbuds (Not even professionals) for over 100$. period. I wholeheartedly disagree and will shill that price cieling for the rest of my life (Until I get the Penon Serial and it proves itself with the triple dynamic) - Balanced armatures are garbage for giving distanced 3D audio, they have that cool shimmery surround effect but your ear receives no tactility from it. - Most sounds are recorded from a standpoint where the microphone is one dimensional, but your ear and the way it registers impact (especially bass) is far from one dimensional. To solve the debate between V shaped sound and flat, we need to pay respect to the fact that sound absorbs into a material via a gradient, so we need to analyze sound via multiple microphones embedded into a skin-like material. Not that I have the resources to do myself, but I'd love to one day
