That's cool and all, but $2,600 for a 20W Fiber Laser isn't really all that cheap nor affordable... Sure it's more portable than other 20W Fiber's on the market, but I don't personally think that's worth an extra $400 markup. There are lots of excellent 20W Fiber lasers on eBay for $2,200, with a larger marking area, and free shipping. However the current Black Friday deal of $200 off and free shipping for that EM-Smart 20W Laser does make it more attractive, but after that sale is over I'd just buy one of the eBay ones unless you REALLY need the slightly easier portability.

@@LaserEverything Yes it will. He's showing standard aluminum card blanks. He's not engraving the aluminum, he's ablating the anodization coloring. Same for those flasks - they're just powder coated and the laser is burning away the paint but is not etching into the metal. Nothing shown here or on their website you can't do for $500 and maybe a can of Cermark.

Ortur can ablate metal at best. Fiber lasers are orders of magnitude more powerful than those kind of diodes.

Not sure what this gets me that a CO2 laser or a far cheaper diode laser can't do. Typically the value of a fiber laser is the ability to engrave or cut metal - this one doesn't do that. It's advertised as being able to "mark" metal. I can already do that. I was hoping to see that it would actually engrave metal, not just remove the anodization layer or paint/powder coat. Show me something that I can't do for a qtr the price then maybe I'd buy one. The whole "fiber laser" here is just marketing spin. Surprised you fell for it.
@jimhatch5873
2 жыл бұрын
@RANDOM_VIDZ if you just need to work with wood, acrylic, leather & mat board (to cut & engrave) or those plus glass, slate, tile for engraving then I'd go with a CO2. You can engrave anodized aluminum and with something like Dry Moly Lube spray or Cermark you can engrave metals. If you need to be able to pick it up & move it all over the place including on top of something you'd like to engrave, then maybe one of the new dual-diode Ortur type lasers with an open frame.
