I worked at a pawn shop when this show was in its peak popularity, which encouraged everyone to bring in super niche antiques and when we'd all be like "sorry I have no idea what this is or what its worth" they would ask us to call our experts... and I had to explain that we didn't have those. When Grandpa Harrison passed away, his wife received 49% ownership of the pawn shop. Rick has refused to allow anyone to go over the pawn shops books. There is no telling what other shady stuff Rick has done. He is partly responsible for why the retro video game market tends to be scummy (especially if it is associated with WATA). An episode of the show had someone coming in to sell a sealed WATA graded copy of Super Mario Bros. People looked into that episode and found out later that Rick has basically been apart of WATA's board, Heritage Auctions is WATA's official/partnered auction house, the seller was a WATA employee, and the expert they brought in was another WATA employee who already knew both of them as they then sell the game to the other but since they are affiliates they basically just sold it to themselves artificially increasing the value.

I know of a couple that went to Las Vegas solely to go to their pawn shop. Not for the sight seeing, landmarks, history, not for the casinos, not for the bars, nightlife … nope. Pawn Stars. They flew all that way from the east coast …. to be shuffled around in a line in a store to stare at stuff no one could buy (unless they brought a lot of money) … a store where the cast wasn’t even working at due to the show’s popularity. All most could buy was Pawn Stars merch lol. To say that couple wasn’t the brightest is an understatement. I guess they expected to walk right into the pawn shop like they do in the show and meet them one on one or something lol. I found it funny because it was only then they had the realization it was fake and swore to never watch it again after that.

No.. that’s not dust. That’s clearly explosive residue, from the great alien war.” And then having a surviving WW2 vet, listening to an argument between a trucker and lumberjack over which job is the most important, deadly, dangerous and difficult. And the Sliced guy ( show they just cut things in half, and break things) hangs out with the other ancient aliens guys, to destroy ancient artifacts. They did have a KZitemr on an episode Pat the NES Punk. He came in with some rare NES games that were in an Angry Video Game Nerd episode. They didn't take them.

It’s a really nice piece of American history. A wombat coat from Australia. Which she didn’t like.

Man I forgot how corny that show Pawn Stars is but I liked how funny and self aware Bar Rescue was.

There was a set of crossover episodes between Pawn Stars, American Restorations, and American Pickers. It is called "The Pick, The Pawn, and the Polish" You should do an ultra review of that whole thing.

I hate how they make customers go through a whole conversation and everything just to be like “well anyway. I don’t want that. Bye.”
