when i play survivor, Badham is as scarce with pallets as Shelter woods used to be. i play killer, Badham gives me Gideon's meat plant of connected pallets and loops also my biggest gripe with badham is the main buildings basement, if killer basement hasnt spawned, enjoy the free carry escape if a person decides to sabo/body block you

i dont get that. you cant not get connected buildings on badham. no RNG prevents the buildings from spawning and you can always get to any building with one speed burst from a hit

Something weird I just found out is that it used to spawn a hook in main building if the basement wasn't there. They added that hook on patch 2.5.0, but then half a year later, in patch 3.1.0 that they reworked the map, they just seem to have forgotten about it. They didn't even add it back with the Realm Beyond update. This is really weird, because lately they have been adding hooks to main buildings like this, like in the top floor of Ormond. But they just refuse to bring back that change, for some reason.

To be fair the game as a whole is extremely killer sided rn and not even due to game balance at least from what I’ve seen there are just so many more terrible survivor players than normal 😂. Solo queue is unplayable rn and when I load up killer half the games are 12 hooks no gens completed

Hey Scott. My problem as survivor is GIANT sections of the map being bare. You’ll have a whole quadrant or even “half” of the map with no visual cover and like a trash pallet at a weak loop or two. So trap and high mobility killers dominate these poor maps by default

Corn is enough to play around the map as a survivor unless ur team decides to be braindead and try to loop shack all the time(which is common in solo q). I'd say farm maps are more for stealth/jukes unless u get thompson house with 10 billion loops

the pallet spawning on new haddonfield can be sooo weird on the streets too, theres some truck pallet configurations that are extremely strong but ive also had a haddonfield that had completely empty streets and driveways. not a single pallet spawn

RPD is killer-sided once you memorize the layout and learn how to cut off survivors. I was struggling with it, but then I played some games as Scratch-mirror Meyers, and other aura reading builds and it helped me to better visualize the map as a whole. And now RPD is literally my strongest map.

As a survivor player RPD is entirely dependent on the main lobby gens. If killers can defend them then they have a 3 gen and win. If survivors get them done then the killer now has a massive chance of losing. I tend to always do a main lobby gen early and advise all survivors to do the same.

@koopa6_412 😮😮😮😮 I been saying this for years. Map size was nerfed 3xs already. Gens are to close. Baddam is strong due to the loops. That map has the ability to keep a killer in a small areas vs most maps. It's VERY difficult to lead a killer to a survivor on a gen. Literally only reason why it's good for survivors.

Haddonfield is literally a death sentence against mobility killers once the game is like 3 minutes in: the 3 decent pallets have been used & now they can just use their power to hit you before using it again before you can make it to anything. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a map do as big of a 180 except maybe Pale Rose

I don’t know if its still possible but when Haddonfield had its 4th house removed it mess with the exit gate generation. Which meant that both the gates spawned on the same wall of the map on opposite sides on the road.

@@-snek. if you bring a Badham map offering, you absolutely are a conniving villain. it does not take even a week of play time to figure out that the entire collection of Badham’s maps are survivor-sided. i have played both sides equally for seven years, and i can assure you that anyone who brings a map with the intention of tilting the scales is in fact NOT just some, “9-5 Joe”. if said survivor(s) happened to be some average player, there would be zero reason as to why they’d feel the need to bring a map that is giving them a higher chance at “winning”. dead by daylight as a game that will let you know if you’re good or bad very quickly. anyone who has even 15-20 hours in the game will feel the desire to get better. players who want to get better DO NOT bring maps that can be abused, because it isn’t rewarding. bringing a map offering that is blatantly sided in favor of one specific role is done with ill intentions. no survivor will bring a map offering if they’re A.) not comfortable with playing on the map, or B.) not confident in their solo queue teammates’ knowledge of said map. the easiest way to take advantage of a survivor sided map is by bringing 3 other people who are also confident on said map. what is the easiest way to maximize comfort?? hmm, maybe choosing the map offering that brings you to a realm in which is sided in your favor?? i hope you are intelligent enough to put 2-and-2 together, even if the question was rhetorical, and doesn’t require any sort of extraterrestrial level of intelligence to understand! (edit: i love to win in dead by daylight. now that you mention it, what is a foolproof method of winning in DBD? if you answered, “getting better at the game, which is also a natural desire in humans when in situations where they are in a competitive environment”, you are correct!!!!)

id argue rancid abattoir is tied with haddonfield for most killer sided depending on what killer you play. If you're killer can play around safe pallets well (e.g alien, nemesis, doctor etc), haddonfield is the strongest. If you are a more normal m1 killer (e.g say onryo, wraith, etc), randic abattoir is probably strongest. For reference, im a p100 wraith main who plays both sides

I honestly think most of the maps, and BHVR's map design philosophy as a whole, need another look. Sure there's outliers like these maps that are truely attrocious, but even some of the better maps suffer fron RNG wildly swinging matches, stale visual designs, or especially a lack of variety. Like, wow ANOTHER open field with random loops dispersed in the same layout but now in another colour so cool BHVR. RPD gets some shit but at least it and the other indoor maps are pretty unique in terms of design. I feel like we could shed half the outdoor maps and nobody would notice.

Big rant on how they need to just make all maps have adjacent gate positioning. "L shaped" if you will. All the best balanced maps in the game have one thing in common: The exit gates are in an L shape of eachother, rather than across from one another. If a map is too large, it usually has the exit gates across from one another. That said, there are exceptions to 'size' being a problem, but the problem realms that don't have size issues still have the exit gate issue. Game, Hawkins, Badham, Haddonfield. All of them have across gates rather than L gates. Sometimes Lery's suffers from no L shape, but a majority of it's variations do use L shape and those turn out to be great, fun, and balanced matches where in most matches people will have a chance to win on either side without it seemingly being skewed before skilled gameplay and other variables such as killer/perks comes into account. A big way to make all maps more balanced is to simply move gates to be in an adjacent formation rather than across. By doing so, the developers need to adjust the actual position of loops and such as to not create deadzones far from the gates, and not to make too strong of zones near the gates. Across gates affect both survivors and killers. When a map's gates are far from eachother, the strongest loops are centralized usually with either the 'main building' or next to shack rather than just somewhere else on the map to be organically ran into. With L shapes, there tends to be "Main building" section, Shack section, and then a single "strong" section elsewhere far from the gates. There's a formula to how they design maps and where they decide to put strong options for chase breakers like 'god pallets' or second-story vaults, as is there a formula for where they decide to put breakable walls for killers. Usually second-story vaults and god-pallets are reserved for main buildings, but can also exist within that "strong chase zone" that exists far from gates to give a level of security, but they *never* exist directly next to gates or the shack. On some maps there are second-story vaults near an exit, but those have alternative openings to get down fast as a killer without having to vault as a failsafe for that design. Breakable walls exist nearly exclusively within the 'main building' of maps, or next to vault locations with scarce alternatives; in the case of dead dawg, the shack itself has one, and the main building of the saloon has four or five, as they're directly adjacent to one another they're pretty much considered as one 'section' despite not being so, and thus everywhere else on the map is generally weaker to deal with it being such a strong area. Note though, that the saloon itself is far away from all the gates, even if they're L or across. What I'm trying to convey is that the closer the gates are to one another, the weaker the corner with those gates has to be fundamentally for the map to work, and thus stronger options are elsewhere, where the generators will spawn. This leads to the killer's patrol routine of checking generators, finding survivors, and then the survivor's ability to run away to equalize out as more often than not the area the Survivor is already in has strong options. When they're trying to actually leave, they'll have less powerful options closer to their ultimate goal in turn. If the map doesn't follow this, then the risk of having powerful options right next to a gate exist, and it *always* feels one-sided for either team. Either the exit gate is too hard to stop people from getting to, or getting all the generators becomes too difficult to do without being in constant danger as the areas with generators will be weaker chase zones.

Went and loaded into 4 games of Haddonfield and Badhdam 2. Small sample size but should stay very similar from game to game. Haddonfield 13-14 pallets, 7-8 windows. Badham 2 16 pallets, 11-14 windows. Pallets : Haddonfield's pallets are straight up weaker, each map had around 2-3 of the terrible edge map pallets and 1 terrible table pallet. In every way, Badham pallets are stronger. Windows : Badham windows are just stronger overall aswell as there being more. Some of the fence windows aren't very strong but still more useful than most windows on haddonfield which have almost all hole next to them. Badham also has a shack which is strong by itself and will always remain in the map.

The general trend that BVHR is implementing all these "shit loops" to balance maps out is really frustrating me. So many pallets that are just completely unusable and guaranteed hits if you want to play them. You are better off running tightly around a tree than playing those pallets. I feel that every loop should at least give you an option to play around it to avoid a hit, which is clearly not the case with the many shit tiles they added lately. They clearly fail to implement proper tiles that are between god loops and shit tiles and give room to play around for both sides.

Im sure escape rates are the reason why badham hasnt been changed. Im a map offering andy, bring badham pretty often and still lose quite frequently. I swear they will use everything besides houses or main building, even when they be getting tunneled, they will rarely run to the strongest stuff, Survivors just dont know how to play that map.

I am guessing one of the issues with having the extra house on Haddonfield is that the exit gates become much further away. Given the places that survivors might go down at endgame, you end up with the team not wanting to rescue at endgame because they'd be blocking for a mile of open ground. It's bad enough having the total deadzones, but worse to have the exits themselves next to them.

Badham has pallets EVERYWHERE and not a single one of them is bad. Every house is super strong, it has a shack, main is super strong, there's the school basment which doesn't always have basement in it for some reason making hooking there super hard for no reason, or impossible if they have something like Boil Over. They need to remove shack on that map for starters. At the very least that alone would help with a few problems, it would still be super Survivor sided but it wouldn't feel unwinnable for M1 killers.

Oddly enough, the strongest maps for me as killer are the medium sized ones. Ones where the survivors have to travel some distance to do the gens but I as a killer don't have to go very far to protect them. Counter intuitively I always get gen rushed on small maps like Haddonfield and dead dog but am able to put up more resistance on maps such as temple of purgation.

Here's a fix: remove 68% of all pallets in maps And space the pallets out so their far away from each other

Not to mention Bad ham has a lot of god pallets. The school can have 2 that has NO mind game. The basement house has a god pallet that is also 0 mind game. The 2 story house depending on the direction you loop is also almost a god pallet

Have you considered there might be a reason for that? As crap and groanworthy as Haddonfield might be for survivor, I can kinda tolerate it since it's one of the few objectively overwhelmingly killer-sided maps there are.

I want bhvr to fix these god awful maps but their new design philosophy of just slapping a bunch of super unsafe pallets on a map and calling it a day makes me want to commit crimes. I would genuinely be happy if they just stopped making new maps and polluting the map pool with utter garbage.

Who cares if Haddonfield is kinda killer sided now? Its been soo extremely survivor sided for soo long its about time killers finally have a decent map since its still only one compared to survivors many and its really not even killer sided by a huge degree especially when the maps that are extremely survivor sided are to such a degree that like you said if you're aren't playing a top tier killer you most likely already lost just by being on the map which i never feel when playing Haddonfield as a survivor

Survivor tip for Haddon field that helps me. Loop and chain all the pallets in the middle and almost never drop them. Once you get hit, go to a safer side of the map, like the house with the basement or a safer pallet. Killer tip for preschool. Go blight

What if Haddonfield was oriented more centrally along the houses? Like, 1/3 of the map is road/front lawns, the second "lane" are the houses, and the third row are the back yards? Opposed to having two rows of houses You could sort of envision the middle row of the houses being like an "indoor" map with holes in the sides of the buildings to connect them with some loops inside, and then the road and back yards can have your more standard loops. They could then block off the other side of the street with a line of cars/trucks with houses behind to mitigate the weird look of only one side of the road.

Personally, I think crotus prynn asylum is way more survivor sided than badham preschool because not only do you have God pallets like you do on badam preschool the map is massive and a wonder that it has not been changed yet

Haddonfield is definitely not the most killer sided map, just thinking you can and will loop infinitely IS the problem with most survivors. Haddonfield has so many structures and line of sight blocking that it's incredibly easy to hide and stealth, it's hard to 3 gen and section off the map because several last gens are inside different structures that you can't easily patrol, see or hear. And badham I agree has always been a strong survivor map but it's definitely not the strongest, like you said any killer with anti-loop shut down a ton of palet loops but yes killers that don't unfortunately just get stomped. Honestly behavior should make maps based around trapper- if trapper has a low win rate there it's probably bad for all other m1 killers, granted the amount of m1 killer ratio is going down as they make MORE killers but idk how i even feel about that, so now older killers are just feeling overshadowed compared to newer ones. I barely get the thrill of a billy, or trapper- heck i barely even see nurses anymore. It's always blight, huntress, wesker, vecna, nemesis (back), dracula (new), ghostface.

It's hilarious to me that Haddonfield has been at one time the most killer sided map in the game by a wide margin and another the most survivor sided. Literally the least balanced map in history.

If I play as survivor on badham, I never get the pallet in the room by the hole in the school hallway But when I’m killer, it’s 100% always there

Personally i feel like Haddon field houses should remain weaker, but the main road should be a bit stronger. That way if you do get hit anywhere you have a good chance of making it to something in the road since the road is connected to basically every house. I don't know how to do it without making the road feel extremely over crowded though. However, if it does end up making it extremely crowded and ugly, i would still prefer it being somewhere i can actually consistently run to instead of a pretty road with a few cars.

No map gets me more Free DCs than RPD when I bring the offering. 99% of the time it's Killers saying, "No thanks" and DCing. Never have I had a Killer DC when I bring a Badham offering. I'd argue RPD is more survivor sided. I completely agree with Haddonfield though.

You need to check new Sanctum of Wrath II, Only 11 pallets in a masive map with a lot ot dead zone in between, only shack side being a little good if you keep the pallets of that area

I dont think adding a single house with a semi-decent window is going to do much for Haddonfield tbh. Said it yourself, survivors have 1 god pallet and its downstairs. They don't have anywhere to run to use against the killer. 95%+ of the pallets are weak or like you said 'might as well not exist'. And adding in killers who can still injure or down after a pallet is thrown like Nem or Phead just makes it even more frustrating to deal with.

While Haddonfield is 100% killer sided, I find it fun to play the houses that are opposite corner from the deadzone, you can use the top floor of the corner house to run in circles then go down and use the one window to chain it to basement house Pretty miserable map overall but that's where I bring killers all the time, it's the only reliable loop here

Would it be crazy to say that they might've removed that structure from haddenfield purely because they didnt want to update/model another building, so they just chopped that bit of the map off? lol. Edit: Also on Haddonfield, you can get pretty often getba completely stupid 3 or 4 gen around main building. A gen can spawn upstairs in main, right outside of main, to the right of main near the play equipment, or again outside of main but closer to the cars, more rarely you can get all 4 spawn. And the way the map is, if the killer is coming to you working on the gens, you HAVE to run towards or behind main because thats the only place to go, unless you run towards the killer and go to the other side of the street and just take a free hit to go away from the 3 gen. It can be a real pain to deal with.

There has been a really bad trend of new maps being disgusting killer sided. The Unknown map has every gen except main all within 30m of each other and The Vecna map is the same. It used to have that second shack-like area at the portal, which made it somewhat fair, but since nerfing that it’s absolutely impossible to win. These tiny maps with like 5 pallets total are just not it…

On top of current Haddonfield being wildly strong, it's got some of the ol' Azarov's Resting Place Syndrome (I think that's how you spell it) where the killer can easily bottleneck the map since the street in the center is so massively open. But man I am so averse to having that map changed to be more survivor sided - just so many bad memories across the old versions, as much as I know it really needs the change.

Not necessarily when it comes to the preschool you can always remove one of the walls right on the other side of the wall that has the fence vault kind of like they did with Haddonfield how they chopped open the side of the building

For every badham I get on a survivor session, I get 4-6 haddonfields, 3-4 shattered squares, and 3 wreckers yards. If I play huntress, I see nothing by hawkins, lerys, and midwitch lol. This games hates it's players.

Badham is pretty bad but I feel like I lose more on Mother's Dwelling just because of how huge it is, the weird filler loops, and the three main buildings being pretty strong even on their own.

Btw haddonfield did have strong loops . But it also had like 2 or 3 ridiculous 3 gens that could spawn that pretty much the killer could guard the entire match and pretty much keep line of sight . And it made for super long boring games

Haddenfield nerfed was insane!! there were 2 pallets where the house that got remove used to be. Day 1 when they change haddenfield i knew it gotten worse for survive immediately!!
