Yeah I member when it was Fruity Loops.... before the fancy "FL Studio". I think we all made a few techno bangers back in the day!! Eh? Yeah, course we did. No pattern editor in those days! Oh no, step sequencing was your only friend. And you'd finish a song all in one hit cos you only had the trial version and you knew once you shut down that session....it'd be gone for good. And god help you if your computer crashed! There'd be tears before bedtime. Hours of wasted time programming your club basic and getting experimental on your TS404. For miles and miles, even if it was snowing. And we did it all barefoot, mind you. Why nobody would let us wear shoes, I'll never know. But we MADE DO WITH WHAT WE HAD. Cos that's what it was all about. And now these kids today with their "Convolders"...... Egh, I dunno..... They have it pretty easy, I'll say that.

The Convolver was another one of those moments where I learned about a thing (in this case convolution reverbs) then started looking around for a good plugin, only to find out that FL studio already comes with a decent plugin of said thing, what's more it's not just the convolver, but all the presets and IRs it comes with. Some FL stock plugins are indeed underrated!

I’m an ableton live power user. I was using fl studio few years back. Honestly there are many underrated fl studio stock plugins. Almost every plugin is amazing. SYTRUS is the best FM synth. Harmor is amazing probably it will be in top 5. Slicex is another legend. Fruity limiter and maximiser is excellent. Almost every fl studio stock effect plugin is excellent. I use all their plugins still. Image line has invented many new features that other top daws follow now and improve. If Fl Studio finds a way to improve their workflow and gives flat bounces it will be the best daw ever. ❤️

I notice you don"t talk about the tools like fade, declick, normalise etc but they function in the same way as in Edison so you could lik back to that other tut. Finally, the recording of an impulse response is pure genius. Fantastic way to get those one-offs gems into the Fruity Convolver presets. Love it.

This has probably been mentioned somewhere in the comments, but if you want to know how to make IRs, Andrew Wade explains in a video that is easy to find on YT. Just search "Andrew Wade How to make Impulse Response" or something along those lines. But it is easy. Let's say you want to sample the reverb of a plugin you only have a demo of or you're collaborating with someone and he has a reverb plugin you don't have. Use a synth to create a short burst of white noise, a few samples or like 1 millisecond long. Export that sound and put in a track with the reverb you want to sample, fully wet signal. Export or Merge that track in FL Studio or use your DAW's freeze or render in place option and boom. You now have an IR of that reverb. I went down this rabbit hole because i was playing guitar through a high gain preamp pedal going into my computer and i was adding a cab IR in the DAW, but it didn't sound as full as it could, since it was missing the power amp emulation. So i recorded an Impulse Response of only the power amp emulation in an amp sim and then, using the RedWirez MixIR 3 loader that can load IRs in series, i put the power amp IR first and then the cab IR and exported that as a new cab IR with power amp emulation! It's a convoluted process for sure, but it's really great if you want to play a preamp through an IR loader pedal or through a modeler that doesn't have a power amp only module. Convolution reverb can also be an mazing sound design tool to completly transform drum sounds or neuro bass sounds.

This is such a dope plugin. People shouldn't sleep on this. I have a question/video request idea about this.... Have you considered doing a video about recording various sounds on our own to load those samples into this for impulse response files for the reverb? It would be cool to see what kind of mic/sound recording equipment you'd, also it'd be awesome to see which impulse response samples work best with which kinds of main sounds you're applying the reverb to etc. I love this stuff so much I'm considering getting a specialized mic for recording outdoor sounds like wind chimes or limbs breaking, leaves rustling etc... primarily just for experimenting with generating various impulse response verbs.
