I'm at a loss as to why they would put those massive wings on it with single footswitches on each. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like it makes it larger than it needs to be.

I haven't opened it up but I'm certain the space is justified. Either for components of the amp or better air flow...I'm just guessing. As a foot switch base it's also VERY sturdy there.

There's an old EFX pedal very similar to that design but included a pedastal of some sort? My memory is shot so I can't remember the details, but I want to say early to mid 70s. Anyway, I like the concept, does it come with an anti-beer splash guard shield? From a tech perspective, I'm more of a fan of 6V6 power tubes and REALLY liked the tube mixing of my old Egnater Rebel 30. Does the amp care if the speaker cables are over 12'?

I predict the company will repackage this in a more familiar lunchbox format. Most guitarists don't like change. Just imagine a drunk guy at the foot of the stage rocking out to the music who then spills his beer on this contraption. Show's over.

This is a very valid concern. And others have mentioned it. Clearly there are specific players in mind who would appreciate this form factor. But if it’s a great sounding amp and more want in I certainly can see alternate versions of this amp created. I’ll be sharing the tones soon so stay tuned.

That is massive. I feel like that would take so much floor real-estate when playing out. Especially if you are also running a pedalboard and maybe need a mic close by. At that point I'd rather have the amp sitting on the back out of the way or something smaller that fits in my pedalboard.
@LonelyRocker

I'm sorry Dan, I can't side with this one. First impressions kinda remind me of the pedal kit designs from the late '70's, early '80's. I applaud you though on giving a quirky design exposure on your channel. I am sure they appreciate it.

@@jeffmancuso2715 I have two Peavey T.G. Raxx preamps. They were much cheaper than the expensive stuff of the day like the ADA MIDI tube preamps that could have a number of different mainstream amp sounds. I see one of the ones you mentioned for $599 and $699 (Rockmaster preamp?) used on internet searches. Bet the Rockmasters were half that much back in the day. The T.G.Raxx are much more now than what I bought mine for. Mine was so simple with no bells and whistles switches and did not have a watered down sound. Plus, when I plugged it into the power section of my modified early 70’s Marshall head it sounded exactly like it.

@@scotthutchens1556 I traded a 24x4 channel Peavey mixer for two straight Marshall 4x10s, the Rockmaster pre and a stereo 60 watt Peavey tube amp at Daddies Junkie Music. later I traded my factory floyd SG for an Aliesis Midiverb. I wish I never did that, Or got rid of my SDD3000. I would buy the rig again but I know I really do not need 60 or 120 watts of stereo power in my basement.
