It doesn't matter what the government decrees about stopping ICE vehicles (cars and bikes) if nobody buys EV's then it's going nowhere. The market will dictate what happens. We are seeing this in the car world now where manufacturers are going back to making ICE cars as the market for EVs has plummeted, and their resale values have hit the floor.
@larryechols6606

This buying boycott will continue until the manufacturers can produce vehicles with real world 300 mile range capabilities. IMHO
@LowQualityPigeon

@@larryechols6606I think vehicle Electrification has way more problems than just the range. They are expensive to maintain and are not as reliable as an ICE vehicle. Once a mass population starts buying just EVs the problems will be highlighted more compared to now. I just hope ICE doesn't die for EVs and somehow manufacturers come up with some better alternative for fuel itself.

I dont think governments care much about you not buying EVs, because in their mind its good if you dont have a car. Then you are bound to low quality public transport and you can not move around as you see fit in your own vehicle. What major manufacturers are going back to ICE?
@grahamtricker4103
3 ай бұрын
@@_AnanasIEgenJuice_ That maybe the case, but when the powerful car manufacturers start shedding staff due to loss of sales the governments will soon change their policy, when they have to start paying out billions in unemployment benefits plus the vast loss of industry associated with automotive manufacturing. Net zero is a complete joke. It does nothing to stop the real polluters on this planet. Check out the news stories over the last 12 months to see what manufacturers are going back to ICE production. Clue: the Germans have already started it...

Banning mopeds and motorcycles, which are THE most efficient commuters of any motor vehicle so the public can go into debt buying $10,000-$20,000 electric abominations that produce more pollution in the production process than a bike will for its entire lifespan, is such a grossly misinformed and useless policy. In other words, business as usual for the UK government

I'm surprised an ice bike ban will take so long. A 2030 or 2035 ban seems more likely. It is also naive to think you'll be allowed to keep registering and riding gasoline bikes on the road much past the new bike ban. It's like arguing that you can keep using leaded fuel just because you have a lead capable old engine.

By 2040, there will be hybrid bikes, like cars ... because it is already becoming evident that fully electric cars for 'everyone' isn't that feasible. And if hydrogen fuel technology catches up then a different story will emerge.

Don't forget the stark varg, that thing actually had me thinking if I should buy it and if I were going for that more dirt bike type of riding where I trailer the bike to the spot I might actually get one, 80hp, no oil changes, absolutely gorgeous looking machine, endlessly tunable power delivery and it is less than 120kg and you can actually get 1-2hrs of HARD riding out of it apparently. The range factor does scare me though, I like hours and hours of riding and days on end, who knows maybe electric vehicles will charge crazy fast one day and all will be fine, guess we will see.

I would love it if manufacturers offered retro bikes with only analog clocks. But have all the hi tech info available through a digital dashboard displayed on Bluetooth connected phone . We all have them. Many of us mount them. And many new bikes already feature Bluetooth connectivity. Why have redundant displays? I’d rather see the beautiful old style dials on retro bikes. But I appreciate all the hi tech info and options accessible through digital interface. Seems like utilizing smart phone displays makes sense.

Why is cruise control a ‘must’ for a touring motorcycle? I just can’t see the point.
@hallmountfilms
3 ай бұрын
Seriously? You may be an outlier, but most tours have significant portions of just hours and hours of highway miles to reach the destination where you’re actually touring. If you have any experience doing hours of highway, you’d instantly agree that the cruise control is a god send. Maybe you just haven’t tried it yet?

I have discovered "Cruise Control" to be indispensable on motorway sections and "A" roads in France. Some sections of "Payage" can be hundreds of miles long. It is also very handy to keep a control on your speed in reduced speed sections. I have other bikes without it, but do tend to chose the one that has it for long rides. 🤔.

hydrogen is a gas in nature it will need high pressure and very low temperatures for it to be a liquid like petrol tto be put in to the car as fuel.... which is very hard to do.... and the production of hydrogen fuel is is not practical because of the sheer amount of it tto be needed daily if every vehicles uses hydrogen..... hydrogen vehicles are more like a proof of concept than a replacement....

I now live in Portugal and ride the motorbike so wave, have a motorhome and there is a tradition of waving in that world, however to add a bit of extra confusion the motorhome is right had drive which is normal for about 40 years and I have now been driving a left hand drive car regularly for 3 years so everything has some degree of automation however not necessarily at the correct time 😂
