Tops!! For the Indian military history buff, Gen N S Brar has presented an excellent treatise. Very rightly brought out, the history of the Indian Artillery starts with the 'mountain gunners'. A soldier scholar, Gen Brar is well known in military circles for his professionalism and interest in military matters and military history. And that mention of Col Nicholson in his interview---- the quintessential, upright, stiff upper lip military officer who commands the loyalty of his men by personal example; yes, that makes a successful career army officer. Surely a 'must read' for all those who are fond of military history and a 'must buy' for unit/ military libraries.

A brilliant interaction. Gen Brar, is a rare breed in our lot- the soldier scholar. He’s an accomplished military historian and the the story of India’s mountain artillery could not have been told by a better person. He’s got absolute mastery on the subject. His first book was an absolute pleasure to read for students of military history like me. Look forward to many more such interactions.
