We pass right past this on our way to the Smokeys. I've always said we need to stop and check this out, but for some reason I thought it was a little, not worth the time to stop kind of place. Man, was I wrong. It's our first stop this spring. That you. And God Bless.

I am from GA but have friends and visit and ride ATV trails in TN quite a bit. My husband and I drive by this all the time and I always say lets go see it (most of the time we are on our way to go ride and cant) but I have always wanted to visit. I told him today that I saw you guys video on it and I really want to go now... He said well you have already seen it now LOL. I will be making a trip to visit here very soon. Thanks so much for getting me started on what I will see here. Looks like so much history which I absolutely love! Much love and safe travels

Hubby and I have been there several times, always enjoy it. Such rich and interesting history. It is a Smithsonian affiliate museum. We would always see the advertising signs on the highway on our way to the Smokies, one day decided to stop by. It is a gem . I agree with you on that good country cooking, yummy. So glad you went there and vlogged it and that you enjoyed it.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Very good video! I must note that the museum was the life's work of John Rice Irwin who lived on this property. He gathered, restored, preserved all this history for us. We lived not far away in the 1980s and would take all our out-of-town visitors there. Mr. Irwin lived there and could often be found in the museum. Very nice man, happy to chat with visitors. By the way - Alex Haley was his good friend and lived across the road. Thanks

The Museum is a great day trip destination. Plan on arriving in the morning and spending the day exploring the entire site. Your lunch looked delicious. On weekends they sometimes have local history tours that are guided by some very knowledgeable people. The price for entry and meals is reasonable. The time you spend at the Museum will enrich your understanding of this mountain region and it’s people. Thanks for taking us along. God bless y’all. - Tennessee Smoky
