True story...A girlfriend and I won a radio contest for a meet and greet with Zakk Wylde at Ozzfest in Nashville. We were on the bus drinking and listening to stories when Zakk Wylde's phone rang. The ringtone was "Back in Black"....he looks at phone and says, "It's just Zombie...I'll call him back later!" He put Rob Zombie off to drink and hang out with us. Eventually he asked us if we wanted to go watch Zombie's set from side of the stage. While we were watching Sherri Moon Zombie came up to my girlfriend, who was 6'1" and covered in tattoos, and started flirting with her. Great day!

So Fan story here: I did the same thing on the bus as You as a Kid, listening and flipping through Hellbilly Deluxe and being enamored with the imagery. My Sister met him randomly once, somewhere and said Rob Zombie is one of the most brilliant People she’s had the pleasure to meet, and fascinating to speak with. As a surprise Birthday gift my Metal Head Husband bought us tickets. The concert fell on my birthday. No partying for me though, water only...I was 6 mos along. He and many other friends were with us and bubble shielded me. There was a super drunk annoying Person we called spider monkey man, (there’s always one) who we think was also trippin hard. This guy was flying at various people and then tried to grab at Rob as he was walking through the crowd! This guy got bum rushed instantly by a heavy wall of security guards which was entertaining-overall adding to the experience, lol. Rob puts on one Helluva show!

I completely disagree on his comments about Grunge, but agree 100% on his comments about the current state of rock. SIGH.......if there was only a way to make rock & roll dangerous again. Something that REALLY killed rock, was when hip hop & pop music both overtook it, in popularity & relevance!!

I'm sorry, I don't hear any real difference from White Zombie to Rob Zombie. Could have kept the band together.

I think white zombie was heavier. Wish they wouldve stayed together. Who knows they may have been more successful musically. Either way Rob has made some incredible music.

For the last couple years in White Zombie nobody talked to each other. They'd show up, play the show and go there separate ways. Wasn't really a good environment for anyone anymore. If you can do the same with without a toxic environment, you probably would too.

White Zombie was heavier and a bit more raw. Also they did noise rock for awhile, which is a style of music that’s almost completely absent from Rob’s solo work.

Right from a young age Rob Zombie has been a big part of my life for many reasons and his music and he himself as helped me through a lot. I discovered myself through idolizing him. Even at such a young age i was always into creepy things and loved horror movies and was bullied for it in school so when i discovered my favorite singer literally lived his life by it it made me feel so much better and i haven't been afraid to be myself. His music has also helped me through a lot of tough trauma and learning to express myself. I truly am grateful to have been around and in the same world as Rob Zombie and i hope he lives a full happy life like he deserves

Yeah, I wonder that too about a lot of these singers and actors. How much of it is really them and how much of it is just part of the act?

I remember an interview on Conan around the time of 1000 Corpses he said something about just watching TV as a kid outside of school. Like 8 to 10 hours a day or something.

Rock still hasn't recovered... being a man of 34 years old though I did appreciate Rob Zombie last year with my wife during our trip over seas at Universal Studios, during Halloween Horror Nights 2019.

When Rob describes his youth and the awful stuff that happened in carnival life, I can believe him. I knew folks who used to do the same thing for a living and the stories they would share sometimes. Doesn't sound like a great life to say the least.
