Anna Anderson was proved to be a former servant of the tzars family and not Anastasia as they asked the Duke of Edinburgh who was related to both the tzar and tzarina by blood to participate in a DNA test to either prove or disprove her claim once and for all, they also used his DNA to test the remains of the family they found thrown down a well after their murder, the entire family were found and identified by DNA and reburied with honours by the Russian people

Incorrect. Only the tsar, tsarina, and three of the girls were initially found and their bodies are buried together. The bodies of Alexei and the last of the girls (most likely either Maria or Anastasia) were found later at another site. And, though they were confirmed as the two missing children by DNA, Russia refuses to reunite them with their family.

The mini documentaries I’ve watched the bodies of Anastasia and her brother were buried separately from the rest of the family in the grounds where they were killed. So when the bodies were later moved Anastasia and her brother’s were not found but later Nicholas body was found and later buried alongside his family. For some reason it took years to locate Anastasia and that’s how the fake princess was able to get away with her since her body was yet to be recovered. However, once Anastasia was found it was certain that fake Anastasia was a fraudster.

Did they ever exhume the bodies and compare the DNA?

@@checkmateone12 the DNA was compared when the family remains were found, to identify the bodies , Anna Anderson's DNA was already on file so the test was performed at the same time
