About the statistics thing, the one thing you should notice is that the countries Pranav highlighted to be religious while having high crime rates are also the ones having populations that are least materially rich. Poverty breeds crime, and the neo colonial rich countries in the Global North that happen to have atheist populations might not have crime problems in their country but are at fault for causing poverty in the global south anyway. I wonder if religious countries with materially rich populations would have such high crime rates, although religion is probably one of the things keeping the proletariat poor too.

03:24 you said that Religious people's belief in God or follow any religion is not linked to their Good or BAD or acting in good or bad ways. But when lots of religious people do GOOD or BAD things, they says that they got inspiration from their religious texts, which says to do GOOD things and BAD things also at the same time. like-- respect humanity ( good thing) but only who belongs to your religion (bad idea). they never realize throughout their life that the second thought is bad and dangerous as they get hypnotized by their religion's Good or Moral side which is minority of their religious text's teachings. whereas Atheists or Apostates who do deep thinking about their religion's ideas and try to link with the betterment of humanity and when they realize that it's not fit then they leave their religion and try to make decisions by using own brain for himself/herself, familiy, society, country and for the world which can make it better for all of humanity. Doing GOOD or BAD may be random event of human brain which can be affected by it's environment where he/she lives, parents , society but all of these are also influenced by main hero RELIGION. so, i agree with you in some point that MORALITY is not related if you are THIEST or ATHIEST but i can say if you are RELIGIOUS than chances of doing BAD things is HIGH whereas if you are an ATHIEST or FREE THINKER or RATIONAL who do deep thinking a lot than chances of doing BAD THINGS are LOW.

As an atheist, you can deem any number of acts to be immoral _absolutely,_ i.e. without exception or condition. No waivers, caveats, provisos or exemptions. _Never_ moral. But theistic morality must always be provisional; conditional; dependent on whether the act in question is commanded or committed by their god. So the only act most theists can honestly label absolutely immoral is disobedience.

Pranav should read the report he bases his conclusions on before he tries to prove a point. I downloaded the report he was referring to. The correlation is not made on the basis of religosity and homicide rates but between human development and homicide. Human development is a function of institution and no country has a monopoly on good institution be they religious or irreligious. Lets compare the homicide rate between 3 very religious countries. Poland(Christian religious), Israel( Jewish) and Egypt( Muslim religious) and i will compare this to Japan, Norway and Czech Republic Religious countries: Poland: 1-2 per 100000 people Israel: 2-4 per 100000 people Egypt: 2-3 per 100000 people Non religious countries: Czech Repiblic: 2-3 per 100000 people. Japan: 1-2 per 100000 people Norway: 1-2 per 100000 people.

The question you should ask yourself is, if God exists, why did God make you question his existence? So much so, that even when there is no proof to justify your faith you have to resort to irrationality to turn a blind eye to all the reasons presented. Why would a God, who is such a loving and humble being, expect you to believe in him unquestioningly, sort of how narcissistic cult leaders expect their followers to believe in them? Shouldn't he at least present you with one provable evidence? Besides, it is wrong to think nothing will happen to you if you kept thinking on God exists and when you die you find out he doesn't. Because you have essentially wasted your only chance at existence by believing theirs an afterlife.

Ok, what if I say that you cannot derive morality ( i.e. pick a course of action based on its moral merits ) using atheism, the believe of no god. Whatever things atheist gets morally correct are morality based on religion. Because otherwise there is no basis on which you can classify one thing correct from the others, other than the excuse that it's the right thing to do.

Well articulated, but not well reasoned. You and Pranav broadly connected oppression - present and past, slavery, and unjust actions to religious people and/or religion. While it's true in some situations as that of the Islamic conquest, the Spanish Inquisitions, and ISIS, it's not true for Nazi Germany, North Korea, and present day Russia's war on Ukraine. Thus, I can disprove the purported relationship between religion and unrest with the above examples. Add to it the fact that the movement to end slavery in western Europe was led by a small denomination of Christians, and your argument starts to seem facile. As to Pranav's argument, crime is determined by a host of factors and perhaps, religion is one of them. I don't know how much religion contributes to homicide in Latin American nations. However, turning correlation to causation needs a lot more empirical evidence than a UN stat. There is actually a better argument against religion and also one that debunks the myth of the immoral atheist. Religion no longer serves the needs of today's populations. It doesn't explain any earthly phenomena, it doesn't help in solving social or economic problems, and the morals it propagates are mostly matter of fact in most modern day societies. Religion is a fairy tale that has passed its peak and is no longer entertaining or virtuous. Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer, and Lawrence Krauss have made cogent arguments for atheism. I recommend you check them out, if you haven't already. P.S.: You could use nice bedding when you are doing a shoot.
