I once saw a Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant practically take a flying leap into our building to avoid getting caught outside for colors.

So if you are on any American military installation and the the national anthem plays(usually marks the end of the duty day) you need to turn facing either the American Flag or where the music is playing(if you can’t see a flag) from a render a salute. If you are not in uniform(civilian or military) you don’t have to salute but you need to stop and show respect for the anthem(as the person taking video obviously wasn’t doing). If you are driving you need to stop and sit in your car.

I'm proud of your son. Too bad many young adults today are not patriotic hence they didn't care about our anthem, the Flag, and the sacrifices made by our soldiers. Kudos to your son! ❤️🇺🇲

Cheryl: Every day at 10:00 AM, Bullworth Academy students, staff, prefects, and visitors have other ways of saluting the flag, all except Jimmy and Shank, who are happily engaged, and they both take the knee, unlike NFL Player Colin Kaepernick, who disrespects. Barbara Mudge, who is handicapped, must stand near a pole and try to stand from her wheelchair, Terry Evans leans against a pillar and puts her left hand on her heart instead of her right, Robyn Reston blew her whistle at the start of the anthem to let students know to stop. Jessica Milton is the safety director and stops activity from her megaphone. Jessica: It appears that both students may be entitled to a cash reward. Cheryl: Mila Whittaker is a student at Bullworth and disrespects by covering her ears. Ryder: Not on my watch. Algernon: There ain't no offense to support flags, you know. Melody: When the national anthem plays, everyone must stop and stand for the playing of it, not disregard! Seth Kolbe: All that anthem disrespecting has to come to an end. Cheryl: Seth Kolbe, a prefect has said that disregarding the national anthem at the 10th hour of every day cannot be tolerated and activity must cease when the whistle is blown and the anthem is being played on the speaker system. Dr. Crabblesnitch: There is no way of disrespecting our flag, it might as well have to stop. Ms. Peabody: I salute to the flag usually at the 12th hour. Cheryl: Why would saluting the flag during the National Anthem at 10:00 on the dot have to be so important? From Bullworth Academy, I am Cheryl Smith.

You do realize that pretty much every service-member runs indoors so they don't have to stand for colors... Nothing to do with patriotism - they just don't want to have to stand at attention eating out 5 min out of their day....

Did you suffer a head injury? Kid was crisp and it's obviously his mother filming at the time of his graduation, I doubt she knows what she is supposed to do on what is likely her first time on a base. I'd think someone also in the service would be able to deduce that, but then again, you're in the Army, so I don't expect you to have critical-thinking skills.
