I like the arc the hunter went through. He was greatly dislikable at first, reminding me of someone who would be on r/iamverybadass. He didn't even bother to spell Utsushi's name correctly or even consistantly. Yet despite that rough start, he started feeling guilt for his behavior. He realized why he fights: to not think. Emotions are hard, and for someone as dismissive, arrogant, and walled off as he was, that guilt (an obviously foreign emotion he had rarely if ever felt before) from Utsushi's disappointment would be extremely unpleasant and difficult to deal with. He fights because it is a distraction from stuff like that. He turned that reason to fight into something beautiful. Now he fights to protect those he cares for. He fights to learn about the world around him. He went from brute to researcher because of that respect he gained for those he fought alongside, and the respect he gained from the world around him. He saw a grieving mother in Narwa wheras his previous self would have seen a paycheck. He saw a tragedy in Malzeno, and where he would have once not hesitated to kill it, he instead helped it. And now he lives with Utsushi, a man whose name he once didn't even bother to learn properly. What a beautiful arc. I love these videos. I like to have them on in the background while playing Monster Hunter, though I pause during more difficult hunts that require more of my attention so that I don't miss any parts. This is quality content right here.

The scene with Allmother was...thought provoking. You never really sit there and think about it during hunts, these are beings that have their own thoughts own motivations of verying complexity, you could even consider Narwa and Ibushi to be sentient since we know they can transfer their thoughts through others. Its like killing another person but the thing is it was either them or us. We had no other option BUT to slay Narwa and Ibushi, a mother and father trying their hardest to bring their children into the world only to be slaughtered for their efforts at being good parents. Its incredibly sad but life isnt all about heros slaying the evil beast and saving the village its a muddy mix of greys and sometimes you have to do what needs to be done despite the moral quandaries that come with it

Kind of crazy how Malzeno's story is similar to the Demon of Razgriz poem "Amidst the eternal waves of time From a ripple of change shall the storm rise Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath The demon soars through dark skies Fear and death trail its shadow beneath Until men united wield a hallowed sabre In final reckoning, the beast is slain As the demon sleeps, man turns on man His own blood and madness soon cover the earth From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light." "When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero." I only realized how it connects since I remembered a dialogue that called Primordial the "Demonlord." And since Primordial was showcased at the Developer's Roundtable, Primordial was essentially the Demonlord of the Roundtable.

Amen to that. The idea of the Qurio actually evolving in response to loss of Gaismagorm is especially compelling. The new strain's collective idea of enticing potential hosts with power in exchange for symbiosis is a scary one. I used to think that the Risen Elder Dragons were individuals that had simply shaken off the Qurio - but the idea that symbiosis was still not out of the question makes their existence all the more terrifying. Imagine a Risen Shagaru Magala that had fully become a "true host". It could infect its new Qurio servants with Frenzy Virus, and have them spread BOTH plagues simultaneously.

The final battle with the Qurio, fighting alongside malzeno brought me to tears. THIS is what a monster hunter is supposed to be.
Conclusion Beautiful. I would love to see more hunter and monster interaction in the next games just to add to lores and stories. Primordial Malzeno trusting the hunters is such a beautiful sight. Long live the hunter who became the most peaceful researcher known to the guild. Salute to the preservation of his weapon that mirrored who he was in the past. It's a great lesson.

I kinda want the script of this. The video, the story, and a narrative that follows a once arrogant hunter is simply beautiful. Edit: I honestly think that a story of an arrogant hunter that broke a major law of the guild, and punishes him by helping a village, learning valuable lessons along the way and right a journal about it is very fitting for a series, or even a movie. I would say, amazing job for this video.

if it is any consolation, her idea of parenting was going to kill your own family and friends. But it is indeed a really tragic hunt, this species is so incompatible with the natural order that we're forced to put the future of their entire species in peril. I always found sad how we kill the two serpents, those are really pretty creatures, and you kinda realize the guild's fears of them spawning too many welps is kinda unfounded when you realize Narwa has like only 6 eggs. 6 may seem a lot, but outside captivity, animals need to breed many offsprings to ensure as much will survive. it's notable those eggs we see in Narwa's belly are really, really small, their youngs would come out really frail, and it's more than likely that without the protection of their parents, they are defenseless for most of their youth.

Monster Hunter 6, whenever that becomes a thing, needs to introduce a brand new black dragon to the series You have inspired me to write a new Monster Hunter fanfiction of my own, using my own character i used in the game

We literally just got Safijiva though (who the devs seem to want to classify as a black dragon). It’s best not to oversaturate the archetype. Heck, I’m not really a fan of how much they interacted in world’s lore, like it’s some kind of monster verse melee. I prefer them existing largely in legend, not as animals but as timeless forces of nature and fear.

@@emblemblade9245 We didn't "just get" it. That monster was introduced 4 years ago

Are you aware of your amazing story-telling skill? This was a riveting tale to listen to, and I truely love the narritive lessons you took effort to write. This 'Forbidden Episode' and the one you did for World, are two of my favourite works from you. Thank you :)

At some point he comments on Utsushi's wirebug technique without spelling his name right and calling the wirebug technique stupid, then when they were fighting ibushi he mentioned his mastery of the technique and put some respect on it's name, dasnice

Holy guacamole, this is the most incredible video I think I've ever watched. This was horrible background noise because I was OBSESSED with the plot; masterful storycrafting, with every detail, I love it to death.
