Temperature point is bs as plastic will too behave differently. One potentially good thing about this ball is that it's gonna have better grip. Regular balls gets covered with sweat and can be slippery. Modern balls manage it to some extent but not 100%. But since this one has holes in there is less surface for sweat to stay on. It won't be a common ball though as it definitely will be less long living and more expensive and if u play with it outside shit gonna get stuck inside.

with the weight of the basketball and the distance it travels, the magnus effect plays a negligible role in shooting. with a tennis ball becoming a wiffle ball, it has a different path because the spin is much faster and the ball is much lighter. With the basketball, you're really limited as to how much spin you can put on it anyways. The only difference putting a backspin on a basketball has is maybe how straight it travels, so i wouldn't expect to see that much of a difference

First, I'm not the brighter bulb in the room, but it does occur to me that maybe professional basketballs should remain brown. The reason for this is tradition, but familiarity with the ball's color makes it less shocking since the transformation will be noticed. Appearance is something to be considered from other perspectives, too. There's a warmth that radiates from leather and a certain comfort that comes from this "natural" feel of the material, but --- and most importantly, the ball with holes in it like this makes it look more like a child's toy than a grown man's tool. Let brown stick around! Finally, my heartfelt apologies to my animal rights brothers and sisters, but remember, we are also a type of animal, especially sports fans.
