BC YOUR FANS DONT GAF About that😂(btw I'm not a sycophant of the brand)But they DO care about the Serious Over Priced of EVERY VEHICLE! & Dealers who drop to What they once Were on a Now 2 yr Old Vehicle Still Nope! Drop it More! Had they not been Greedy in the Extreme to begin with, they'd be doing alright 😂 I love the new GC as is & innovation comes with cost. Fine. But 2 yrs later that needs to adjusted. It's not new anymore. Their brand is so far in the Hole, they Should be Giving cars away to solid buyers with money/credit for real world prices. Not deluded prices for a Bankrupting Company

If I was getting a new Jeep Grand Cherokee, I would order a 2 row Overland with the off-road package. You would get A/T tires, ELSD (Quadradrive), skid plates, tow hooks, and better departure/approach. The advantage over the Trailhawk trim is that you can still get it with the V6. The Trailhawk is only available in 4XE for 2023. I would like to see a longer track record on those as well as a lower price before I would get the 4XE. However, in the end I am going to keep my '21 Trailhawk V6 for some time. I feel like I stole it (compared to prices today) when I bought it in 2/21 for $42.5k inclusive of the Protech II package.

I drove one today to cross-shop after buying THREE Subaru Ascents. We were formerly a Subaru family having bought 9 of them, and before that we were a jeep family. We have a combio of both right now and our other cars are a RAM 1500, Volvo XC90, Jeep Liberty. The GC-L does not have the confidence of shorter wheelbase vehicles. It drives like a pencil. You are trying to move it on the desk knowing it has a little grab before it starts to roll of the table. The interior was great, a little more legroom than in Ascent but you loose 1-2 seats. I also didn't like the downgrade on limited to vinyl seats. At least the altitude has suede. So overall I think the Summit or Altitude are the best packages they offer. The trailer prep group adds a nice self-leveling rear shock and I could tell a big difference with 4 kids in the Jeep.

In my 17 Cherokee the modes make a difference. Especially since I have the 2.4l and it is very sluggish IMO, if you hit the brakes and then back to the gas, unless you have it in sport mode. Then the throttle is very responsive and no delays. In snow mode you have to use a lot more throttle to accelerate than in normal mode, and the traction control is very aggressive.
@sonsofliberty3081

It's not that it's sluggish. It's ment to help unstudy feet get good mpg. Sport mode increases throttle sensitivity. When you feel snow mode, it's cutting torque big time because that's what makes you spin.

I have the exact vehicle you tested in this video. This is my 3rd JGC. Yes, it is expensive, but nice luxury, quiet ride, and lots of room. I went with the HemiV8 (pretty bad gas mileage), but wanted towing capability and the added space for gear and dog. I agree with your comment that the factory tires, although nice on the pavement, are lacking for off roading (really lacking for serious off roading). As you mentioned this vehicle is great for getting to that campground spot, fishing spot, trail head, etc. It is certainly capable for easy and moderate off roading. For serious off-roading (not my thing) I agree going with the two row would be better and investing in off road tires. Nice review from TSL. Thanks!

And I still think 50k was too much money. But looking at today's GC, mine is a steal. Jeep has now over priced it's vehicles. They only can sell them to the smaller population of buyers that can afford them. I guess they want to use the high profit margin on these vesicles to pay for the R&D for the electric fleet. Only problem is that they will not have the enough customers in volume that can afford the product. I hate to say it but I will buy a Camry LE Hybrid as a daily driver and rent a Jeep a few times a year when I need it and save big money.

I was a bit disappointed in the slip test and off road performance of this Jeep. The exclusion of the ordered limited slip differential was a real game changer here in overall performance. The slippy sliddy tires are an easy fix. (What’s a $2,000 set of tires on a $70,000 Jeep?) but the missing rear differential locker, limited suspension articulation and lower approach and departure angles do hurt. The expensive trail rash on the front and rear bumpers is going to be a thing. I would like to see a more minimal spec Grand Cherokee L with better ground rubbing front and rear bumpers and good old fashioned easily accessible tow hooks installed. (Make them chrome plated because Grand Cherokee gets more bling!)
