Perovskite technology dramatically transforms the efficiency of existing solar panels, increasing the amount of energy we can generate from the sun at the same time as reducing the amount of land we need to use for solar farms.
Oxford PV’s breakthrough perovskite technology can be applied as a thin film - less than one micron thick - to silicon solar cells, dramatically improving their efficiency. Made with abundantly available, low cost synthetic materials, this approach is 200 times more effective at absorbing the sun’s energy compared to conventional silicon solar cells, accelerating the adoption rate of solar and delivering more affordable clean energy.
Oxford PV was developed from research carried out at Oxford University, and has offices in the UK, where we interviewed CEO and founder, Professor Henry Snaith and a production facility in Germany, where we interviewed Chief Technology Interview Dr Chris Case.
RE:TV was founded by His Majesty King Charles III to highlight the innovations and ideas that are emerging in response to the climate and biodiversity crisis.
Inspired by The King’s long-standing commitment to nature, we provide a platform for the growing community of change-makers around the world, raising awareness of the wide variety of technological and nature-based climate solutions that point the way to a better future for us all.
As our founder put it when RE:TV launched in 2020; "there is real hope, but we've got to come together as a world on this."
