Hello, can I use the receiver as a mic, like on the “me”? Thank you, Frans

Unfortunately not - there doesn't seem to be microphone on the receiver unfortunately. You would just have to use a separate microphone, or you could use the second transmitter if you are only using one transmitter for your subject. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for your presentation. I just bought the device yesterday, and haven't tried it yet. Do I need to download the software b/4 attempting to use it efficiently?

Thanks Enrique! It will definitely be most customisable and useful with the Rode Connect software. While I don't have the Wireless Pro, I have the Video Mic Go II and you can really customise the sound of that mic with the software, which is really nice. The flexibility with the Wireless Pro should be even larger when you use it with the Rode Connect. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about the Wireless Pro once you've had a chance to try it out - it looks like a really cool device!

Thank you sir. But let me ask you a doubt. I want to use it as a wireless hands free mic. Therefore as it is not UHF system ,will not the signals from mobiles etc. systems in the vicinity ,interfere when I use it as a public address system ( not for camera recording) .

With all these wireless systems, performance will definitely be worse in high traffic areas, so it depends how far away you are likely to be from the received to be honest. As long as you are within about 20-30m, I don't see there being any issues with the wireless connection, even in high traffic areas. However, as soon as there is an obstacle in between the transmitter and the receiver, the range gets drastically reduced, so if someone walked between you and the receiver, you would likely lose connection until they moved out the way. These wireless systems definitely work best when you have line of sight from the transmitter to the receiver. I hope this helps!

@@arranpbrown Thank you for well informed answer. But will my own mobiles in my pocket ,and of those standing with me ,can it affect with the signal of this wireless mic?

@@themastersvoice8636 I have the Rode Go II and I have not experienced interference from nearby mobile phones. However, the Rode Go II can record a backup directly to the transmitter unit so you will also have a version of the audio that will not potentially be disrupted during transmission.

You're right, thanks for the correction! As far as I'm aware they ANC and ENC are fairly similar as they are just cutting out any unwanted background noises and focusing on vocal frequencies, but good to make the distinction. Thanks for watching!

Having the Rode wireless 2 which is one of the best out there, a Pro sounds great, but if you have the 2 you are ready only getting time code as an extra, but if you don't have any thing at all this is going to be great buy, all the best bit 😀 of Rode 😀 laters

Agreed - most people probably don't actually need the advanced features of the Wireless Pro, especially if you already own a Wireless Go II, but that 32-bit float looks awesome 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting - I appreciate you! 🙌

@arranpbrown if I remember correctly rode has updated the 2 to 32, bear this in mind, I use the soundtrack from 2 when I need it, most of the time straight out the camera, or like this week outside I need the soundtrack from rode 2 😀

Interesting! So having done a bit of googling, it seems you can export upscaled 32-bit files from Rode Connect with the Wireless Go II. However, this isn't the same as true 32-bit recording as in the Wireless Pro as it will still require you to manage your levels to avoid clipping in your original 24-bit recording if that makes sense! So you still get a huge advantage with the 32-bit float from the Wireless Pro 😊. Glad to hear you are enjoying the Wireless Go II though - it's still a fantastic microphone system in its own right!

It’s very interesting, but the completely borked timecode and their refusal to address it in their comment responses and even Q&A has me questioning even considering it when I was initially extremely excited. How can I even consider purchasing it if they refuse to acknowledge the endless professionals telling them it’s next to unusable in its released state?

I've seen a few videos floating around about the Timecode issues, but I haven't had the chance to watch one yet - will need to check it out and see what the issues are. Fair point though, makes you concerned about what else might not work properly if one of the flagship features isn't functioning as described! To be fair though, I own 3 Rode products and I've had no issues whatsoever with them, but interesting to see they haven't responded to the comments about the Timecode yet! I imagine they are probably working out an appropriate response at the moment and hopefully we will hear from them soon. Thanks for your comment!

@@arranpbrown you definitely should, it’s been quite widely talked about and yet Rode has ignored the extensive comments and coverage, choosing only to address the indirectly the lack of TC jamming in (not even addressing how to use to systems together). Honestly it’s not even concern for me over other features, I use and love my Go IIs, pairing them with custom built Sennheiser MKE2 lavs, but I don’t want to support Rode treating a professional product/feature with such ignorance and disregard. Additionally however I need the feature to properly work to be an upgrade from the Go II and will instead spend more than twice the price for the new Deity Theos instead, even though I would love the smaller setup of the Pro.

Yeah, I've just watched a few of the videos and I get what you're saying now. I think if you need timecode for any multicam setups, this might just not be the product for that, but it could still be used for a single cam setup to accurately sync the audio from the transmitters, especially when you are recording internally using the 32-bit float. But maybe Rode need to change their marketing around the timecode to make it clear the amount of drift that the timecode could experience through using the jamming method as that could definitely ruin a whole day's footage (or more) if you are relying on it for something like a wedding! For me personally, I think the 32-bit float is the most exciting feature for the Wireless Pro, as I don't think I'd necessarily make a huge amount of use of the Timecode feature for my workflow, but that's just for my workflow. I also still think it's a great value product regardless of the timecode issues, but it will be interesting to see if Rode respond further and how they decide to deal with the timecode issues. Thanks so much for the kind comment - I appreciate it!
