Dope tutorial man. Manual chopping on this sp is beast, almost easier than on the mpc. I feel like the computer inside of it kinda tries to fix/anticipate your mistakes. It's easier to get your resampled loops on time first time than the previous models.

Great Video, Broski! I appreciate the way you communicate, explaining things in detail without moving extremely fast. Many people make videos on the SP-404 MKII, but they're flying through the buttons, keys, and menus like army ants with speedy blurred hands. Anyway, Bro, good job on the video, and I will keep tuning in as you release more.

This unit is such a huge update to the versions before. It becomes just a chopping master piece of gear. I think I'll grab it, cause the idea of unit, powered by a powerbank making beats on the go without having the trouble with getting the chops as you wanted and than just layering some FX, is catching me. One question came up to my mind: is there a way to make a beat/loop right in time without using the sequencer? That was a bit complicated on for example the sp404a

Good video, do you know if I want to make the chops manually but without real time and with no division or transients, like to press a pad and the line with the selection comes out idk, idk if it even exists but that'd be great!
@spvidz
2 жыл бұрын
You could just use the old method of sampling in a large piece of audio, copying it across multiple pads and choosing your start/end points for each pad?
@serpieromusic
2 жыл бұрын
@@spvidz Thanks! So I was reading the manual and you can actually select the chops without been in real time, without the auto mark, or using the method as the older units about copying it etc... You have to: -Enter to chop mode -With the first knob (C1) move around til you find the place you want to add the marker -Press MARK Then you can assign to pads and all of that stuff :). Hope this is helpful cause for me it was!, sometimes i have the chops in my mind already and I don't want to be waiting in real time cause you know, workflow.
