Workshop was punching way above it’s weight class here. Always fun to see a card that’s dismissed as “cute” during preview season doing work. The fact that you beat Delver, one of the best Wasteland decks, twice with Tron speaks a lot to it’s playability. Might not end up being competitive but it looked respectable for sure.

Not having Torpor Orb in the Sideboard is a massive oversight. The card is insane for matches like Initiative and the Elementals. There are a LOT of ETB effects in the format. Not as many as Modern, but there are still abilities you want to shut off. Solitude, Recruiter, any number of the Initiative jerks, Loren, Taxes creatures, Fury.

This was one of the coolest legacy decks I have seen streamed recently. In spite of the tough and rough record, being this good against Delver at least feels very promising. Yeah I think playing a few ancient tomb and 1 lil Ugin instead of powders is probably a good future call. I just love me a good Mystic Forge deck with prison elements and of course the best Karn ever!!! I also really enjoyed that this is pretty budhet friendly as far as legacy decks go. Outsife of the Urzas Saga, Chalices and Karns, its an extremely affordable deck and if you are already an active modern player, then most people have those more expensive cards already in some numbers. All in all it looked super fun. Great stream. Would love to see more budget friendly Legacy decks that are actually somewhat competitive. Very cool.

@26:24 I would have brained for Thassa's oracle, odds are that it is not in their hand and the fact that they kept a stoneforge shuko hand meant they likely had a cephalid. Taking Thassa out of the deck effectively negates the combo and leaves them with 2 "dead" cephalids in their hand. (Still a rough position anyway)

@@laurenceglaze I understood that reference. For those that don't get it, see a certain card from Unhinged, Erase (Not the Urza's Legacy One). For a weird fact about that card, the artist attribution (Pete “Yes the Urza's Legacy One” Venters) is bizarre, as Venters neither drew the ULG Erase (by Ron Spears) nor Lightning Rift (by Eric Peterson), the card whose art is referenced in Erase (Not the Urza's Legacy One). I'm not even sure if Venters drew the eraser/other-art-edits (and even then, one would expect a double attribution to Peterson as well). Honestly have no idea what is up with that attribution.

Wonder if this deck can attempt a flex at prosperity or some blue X spell for massive draw. Seems like a waste to generate so much mana to not do some big dumb thing like that. Or maybe urza himself could grace the battlefield? Either solution would require more blue though so it's a toughie. Edit: maybe tamiyos journal, or coveted jewel, or ring of 3 wishes? "Urza's" is a land type per the comprehensive rules. See Urza's Factory for the clearest example. This is also the part where I tell you that Urza's Saga was designed as a pun: the type and the name are the same. It's also a reference to the fact that the original Urza's lands had to have their land types retroactively changed to their names so the rules would work properly, hence the creation of the "Urza's" type.
