It's funny that the reviewers that have been bad mouthing Smith and Wesson are not in the official reviewers loop. They are butt hurt as Smith didn't send them a gun to review. They typically praise guns made in Turkey because they are cheap. My Shield Plus and Equalizer are awesome American made guns that function flawlessly. I also applaud Smith and Wesson's CEO for standing up to the liberal gun banners in congress. I'll probably never purchase a race gun but enjoy Jerry and Smith and Wesson.

Or maybe the ones in "the official loop" are there because they are shills?? It's hard to believe most of the reviews because of bias either way...

@@HammondArmory All I'm saying is that my Smith and Wesson products, as well as those of my friends, work great, look good, are reliable and American made which is a big deal to me. To be a professional exhibition shooter you have to be able to know enough about what you are shooting in order to get the gun to run like you want it to. I'm in no way up to Jerry's calibration but I am calibrated too only on a different level. I wish I could shoot as often as Jerry but I don't have access anymore to our old family property. Sold! Hopefully I can find another piece somewhere, and I will have total control over that one. Getting hard to find places to shoot any more. Look, I love the M&P, but the ability to take the gun down without pulling the trigger is BS. I NEVER use the lever to break the gun down. I’m responsible enough to pull the trigger to break it down. Love S&W, but pls stop with this BS as if it’s a legitimate design function. IT IS NOT!!!

I have never understood the problem with pulling the trigger of an EMPTY (safe) gun. Is it a technical issue that causes damage to striker or a psychological issue at user's end? Why would anyone have any problem with pulling the trigger of an EMPTY gun? If you say oh well it may not be completely empty, then we have a much bigger problem in our hands. If you cannot verify and be sure if any particular firearm is in safe condition, what are you doing trying to disassemble it?? I really cannot understand. My only explanation is psychological issues on user's end. If your firearms handling practices are based on feelings, fears, probabilities, chances, and other beliefs rather than evidence and reason, you should not handle firearms. I get that manufacturers have to include those features to fulfill the sales requirements, but if you are having psycgological troubles pulling the trigger of an EMPTY gun on your bench to disassemble it, it think you owe it to your self to have a hard look at your own firearm handling practices.
@1014p

Any striker fire should be fine to shoot empty. At most maybe some striker pins are a softer metal and my deform. I dont know of any with this issue.
@sethrich5998
Жыл бұрын
The reason the M&P has that disassembly feature is that some police agency’s had policies that services weapons had to be able to be disassembled without pulling the trigger. It was a requirement that was gaining popularity with police departments in the early 2000’s when the M&P was introduced. It was entirely a design choice to get more law enforcement contracts that’s carried over ever since, even though most departments have gone away from that type of requirement.
