I think that's different, Mac was being honest. I think it appealed to Sloan that Mac was so honest, and Sloan she's equally, if not more, qualified than the others that were in question. Although there is once where Don calls Sloan "money honey". She said he looks tense and he said "you got that backwards, money honey", she didn't mind but Don was a friend she was romantically involved with, not some random condescening professor.

The other thing that cannot be forgotten is that Shelly downgrades Sloan ("Money Honey") and continually elevates herself ("I teach college").....Yet, Sloan is considerably better educated than she is. Hence, if nothing else, I think tearing into her ego was warranted and necessary. A lot of people teach college; there are very few world class economists.
@forgottenfamily

@@matthewdiano5226 Yeah, that's the big thing. It’s funny how Sloan is somehow perceived as being at fault for Shelby Waxfigure, yet Shelly was intentionally stubborn, indignant and stonewalling. Sloan was legitimately being kind and patient with Shelly since Will can be a hard ass to work with despite his good intentions. The interview went badly because Shelly (and others within OWS) wouldn’t recognize that having a leader for OWS would’ve helped cement a more stable public perception and therefore rallied better support of their cause.
