1. If the whole world expects you to run, how likely do you think it is to succeed. 2. The Seahawks had the exact same situation earlier that same season vs St Louis. It was midfield but it was 4th and short, late in the game. They gave it to Lynch, he didn't get it. Game over. 3. Carroll didn't know this, but in over 100 throws from the 1 yard line across the league that year...not a single one was intercepted prior to that throw.
@inwalters

I read all the comments, BUT IT WAS SECOND DOWN. On 4th I can understand, cause either you score or game is over anyway, but on second!? The main thing here is don't turn it over, cause then the game is over. Give it to Lynch 2 more times.

@Andy Gygi It may have ended badly in terms of the superbowl but at the same time it shows a non existent idea that no one is above the team. Huge Patriots fan, but if a player doesn't follow team procedure (if that's what indeed happened.) Screw him, no one is above a team end of discussion. I applaude the Pats for having the balls to stick to that call.
@98nh3609
4 жыл бұрын
@Andy Gygi in order. He agreed to the policies of the team when he became a part of it. I missed the lesson that a single player on a roster of 52 others plus coaches calling the plays, that one single player would have made the entire game's outcome different. Even if there is any validity to him being able to single handedly change the Super bowl (which spoiler alert there isn't). And four the minute you excuse his behavior you tell the entirety of your team, any future member of your team and so on that there is no accountability. Made the right call. As I said, Malcolm Butler screwed the pooch.... In my opinion he is solely responsible end of statement
@98nh3609
4 жыл бұрын
@Andy Gygi also fun fact... Tom Brady had twenty incomplete passes. The Patriots fumbled the football late in the fourth quarter and their kicker missed an extra point and a field goal. So a costly turn over, four unscored points and what not in an 8 point loss.... But sure Malcolm Butler not playing is the sole reason the Patriots lost that super bowl

You know, I will defend that call all day for the simple fact that literally everyone was expecting that ball to go to Beast Mode. I was sitting on my ass watching the game and I expected it to go to him (and the local Seahawk fans to become even more insufferable, I'm a Niner fan). The idea wasn't bad, it was just a combination of Russell Wilson fucking up that throw and Malcolm Butler manning the fuck up. The real question is why didn't Coach Harbaugh have either Kap or Gore run the ball two treats prior?
@wazz5009

Hillis had a pretty good 2010 season, rushing for over a thousand yards and 11 TDs, which probably led to his Madden cover appearance. And than the curse struck and he never surpassed 600 rushing yards again.

@@CyroAsseo I totally agree. He deserved it over Brady that year. It's just the fact that he missed a few games due to injury that hurt his case.

Interesting... Jackie Wallace's first season in the NFL ended with a loss to the Steelers in the SB (their first win in the SB) and his very last game ... was with the Rams in another loss against the Steelers in their 4th (and final win of that decade).

The volume of a gas decreases if the temperature decreases. One time on vacation, we had a 20 degree drop and the next day my low tire light came on. Which was due to the temperature drop; we started driving and eventually the light went off. So if the ball was at the low end of the range, the weather would cause the volume to drop, thus Deflategate. If it were anyone but the Patriots you never hear about it.
