I think I've found the music I want to be played at my funeral, this theme, played exactly in this way (bar the ending bit, I love the switch Lara made and it adds a little bit of original flavor, but I just love the way the original live learn has the piano ramp up after the final pauses, like the original OST). Now I know this sounds pretty morbid, especially given the setting and what the song originally intended for. But let me explain, to me, Lara's version and the original version is ultimately about hope, which is set against the looming dread, danger and evil present within the piece. It's a duel between these forces which encompasses the whole song (Like in the show, the living vs the dead) and gives the song life in such a way that you could transfer your own struggles into the darkness here and nd your own dreams into the sharp, hopeful pushback (which I've done many a time in a dark place, it helps me walk out of it and clear my mind every time and focus). That's the true beauty of the piece, it really throws everything, all the tension and danger it can at ya throughout, yet somehow, as if by fate or pure luck, the hope succeeds every time and the piece ends peaceful and inspiring, yet somber, as things should be at the end of any great challenge, especially life, which is what the piece will ultimately encompasses for me. And by doing so showing aspects of my personality, My nerdiness, love of soundtracks, piano, and lastly and most importantly, my love of stories, no matter how they are conveyed, which intrigue me emotionally. That's a great thing to interpret Lara and you replicate those feelings perfectly just on the piano (which, I do think, somehow makes it even more effective) which is quite an achievement. My only regret is that I won't be able to pay you to replicate it as a final message to my family and friends in the church because odds are I'll manage to outlive you slightly by being younger. Nonetheless, I'll buy the sheet music at some stage in the future and find someone talented enough and young enough musician to hire to do it in your stead, and I'll make sure they match up to your quality on piano, so that's it's as meaningful as it can be to those I love in the future so that they can hear this to soothe their (hopefully) quick to pass sorrow at my passing, they might not remember it, but I'll appreciate it deeply. So finally, Thank you, Lara, for creating and adding many versions of this song on the piano, which have soothed me to sleep many a time. I wish you all the best in the future!!! And I hope I've conveyed adequately how much this song means to me and how very thankful I am that you have covered it, much to my benefit.

Remember when the White Walkers and The Night King were highly intelligent creatures with their own culture and customs, but the writers "forgot" that they were more than a bunch of shambling ice zombies?
@beefcake8821
4 жыл бұрын
Except they weren't. We got one scene of them not attacking and that was them turning a baby. Children of the forest turned them into killing machines to fight back against the first men, that was their purpose. Never in the book or show was a culture established.

Except in the books it *literally* was. If you didn't read them that's fine, but don't try to act like you did if you can't at least make your BS sound plausible.
