Just bought this pattern and I can't wait to try it out! Thank you for putting in the time to make this and show us how! Much appreciation from Central California!

I bought your pattern and made the bag. It came out great! I've gotten many compliments on it. Thanks for the video and easy to use pattern. The bottom part was quite "fiddly" because I only had 9-10mm leather on hand. It can be done but I had to use Chicago screws and adjust the holes slightly.

Brilliant idea. I've just been given leather from an old sofa (seat & back cushions) and from what I can see it's been good quality. Just wondering if it would work for this bag.
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
Leather from a sofa is usually an upholstery leather which isn’t usually thick enough for a bag like this. Be good for a bag that had a lining though

@@CountryCowDesigns thanks for that. I'm sure I'll think of something to do with it, would be a shame not to and my machine can cope with it. Keep up the good work.

If you have the proper tools to use with a hammer then it’s a good option. We’ve used that method as well.

I have never worked with it, but there is a fella that sets up locally selling hair-on hides. How do you think this would work using one of those?
@CountryCowDesigns

To be honest I don’t know. The recommendation is a minimum of 2mm (4oz) leather. You could check if it’s similar to this

The only problem with this design…. The first remark I got from a client is that the corners on the top of the flap are too wide. Small things fall out of the bag when it happens to fall over.
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
If the top of the bag was made narrower then the flap wouldn’t close over when the bag is completely full. Using a sturdy leather is the best way to help the bag maintain it’s shape at the top. Thanks for making it though
