In 2014, I found myself immersed in the world of psychology studies at the university. Yet, as I delved into textbooks, a growing dissatisfaction gnawed at me. It was clear that something was missing.
And so, a momentary decision took root in my mind. I chose to leave behind the confines of university life in order to embark on a pilgrimage.
I had a dream, that if I could find 100 teachers from all 195 countries, I would discover the secrets of life.
I was convinced that after being mentored by 10,000 teachers of all shapes and colors, even a fool like me would become wise.
This new path led me to become a vagabond. From the streets of Istanbul to the markets of Bangkok, I embarked on a journey to find teachers who could educate me in the art of living.
These were not professors in lecture halls; they were the living, breathing repositories of life's most profound lessons.
In Cambodia, I found a former arms dealer who had turned his life around. He taught me about the power of redemption and letting go of the past.
In the slums of Ghana, I met a voodoo practitioner. He opened my eyes to the reality that there is more to the world than meets the eye.
London introduced me to a billionaire. His teachings left an indelible mark on my understanding of masculine responsibility.
Each of these encounters was a chapter in my ongoing education, a glimpse into the kaleidoscope of human existence.
Yet, as my journey unfolded, a realization grew within me. I didn't want to walk this path alone; I wanted to share what I’ve learned with someone.
That someone is you, my friend.
It was after this realization that I started to write about my journey. But there was a problem, the world had shifted from the written word and towards video, and I did not know how to utilize this new medium.
It was in Rome, however, that I met Daniele Vilella, a videographer and musician who shared my love for humanity. We became brothers right away, and while being drunk, vowed to travel the world together.
The following letter is the first in a series of many video letters in which we will attempt to share with you some of the lessons we learned along the way...
